And for that matter, what are connector pins??

They told that the pins* have collected carbon all around.I could see few of the pins color was different from others.Reason they told was "it could be because of dust, moist.
And even they dint know how to prevent this from happening again.

Connector PINS: ECU is connected by plug that goes into a electrical jack(just like the hard disk mechanism of our PC ).The ECU is located under right side of the Seat.

Let me try and explain. When you depress the clutch, the drive is disengaged so less mechanical noises, less friction between parts inside the engine and so lesser vibrations and neat exhaust note.

When you let go of the clutch you are engaging the drive . i e contact happens, more friction between mechanical parts and a meatier exhaust note. I hope this helps.

Can somebody tell me if my basic understanding of the clutch is right?

is a single person able to use it any tools required to fit it. is fitting and removing difficult task? i'm not looking forward to use it permanently only for lubing.
Alright the black one is the rx100 center stand and the silverish-golden one is the axle/pin/shaft (different people call it by different name) . Stand costed me Rs200 and the Axle costed Rs30.

                  Procedure to install:
1.Put the bike on side stand.
2.If you look underneath, you'll find 2 metal brackets with circular holes in them.
3.The part of the center stand where you keep your foot while mounting a bike on the center stand should be on the left side of the bike.
                  4. Put the stand between the 2 circular holes and push the axle through the bracket with the hole, then through the center stand and finally through the bracket with the hole on the other side.
5.Now the center stand has been installed and you can pull the bike up and put it on the center stand

This is a one man job, although you might want someone close by incase something goes wrong and the bike starts to topple over. Although this is just a precaution and most probably nothing will go wrong.

                  Precaution:
1.Do ensure that point 3 of the procedure has been complied with. Once you have the center stand in your hand you will see that there is a sloping metal plate attached to the hollow pipe on the top of the stand. The sloping metal plate should ALWAYS be towards the engine side / front wheel side, not towards the rear wheel side.

                  2. Try doing this with a cold engine the first couple of times, I did it with a recently shut off engine (Tried the stand when I took the axle from the shop), so the exhaust pipe was still hot and I touched it. Although I was very quick in removing my hand, but it could've been nasty. Hence start off with a cold engine.

thanks for the detailed instructions and pics.

Ha that indeed is a tricky, i guess it dosent affect when shifted at the proportionate levels. i guess at 2.5 - 3.5 is the ideal to shift with out using clutch(unless you do not hear and loud sound from the gearbox). If you can synchronise the speed of your bike perfectly for a particular gear ratio, then u have got it. but be ready to manage some jerks off if shifts made are not at the right time. Also shifts made with out clutch at wrong time will spoil the entire gearbox gradually..

If you are really concerned, change clutch+pressure plates, bell, casing+get the play reduced with lathe.
I don't think you would like to do all this to a new bike!
I will think of this when my bike requires clutch plate change. Not bothering for the moment.
Thanks @Sarvajit, I should wait for at-least 10-15K km for changing those things. Could you explain which is called bell?

@all: when we change the gear, does it have any spring noise from the clutch side in the engine?

yes RC 1060 is appropriate for R15 mine fitted from authorised SVC of Yamaha same from where i bought my R15. RC1060 is direct fit R1100 will need cutting of air box morover ECU will not be able to provide fuel according to that much air flow for RC1060 ECU manages because i have top end of 140km/hr[on speedo] so fuel mix is right [with K'N]. mid range also increased little less gear shifting then before. and awesome exhaust note. so go for it
