Well It's a personal preference I guess, but I love the distinct white alloys look. Guys here did say that they make the tyres look skinnier, but with a 100 section rear end, I'm not looking for tyre's looking fatt....I'd have brought a fz if I wanted a fat ass :P

Well after looking at how clean you bike looked in those 2 pics you posted, I got off my ass and cleaned my babe up. Took 1.5 hours to clean her all up with shampoo and water and by then the sun was already down so I left the waxing and lubing part for tomorrow.

I agree, white is the way to go in 2010, people have been asking me about the limited edition at traffic lights. The white RTR180 and white ZMR's are being sold more than any other of their colours........white rocks

Nope the 3.5amp battery is being provided with the new bikes as well. You should go for a tata green battery if you're about to get a new one as it's better than the mindas that are coming now.

I'm gonna buy the rx stand tomorrow guys...i dont want to fix it permanently, just need it for lubing and air filter cleaning....so i guess i'd require just the main stand and the shaft, right?

    • Guys .
i had fixed my Issue with the start up and battery. The service centre guys have changed the Rectifier and Battery(They said they changed three battery in which only one was good.. What a quality for the minda batteries) Seems to be ok now. All these work were done under warranty.

I met a guy, taking delivery of an LE version in the SVC. so i asked him how he managed to get a LE as it's not in sale. he said he has some contacts in Yamaha India so he got it through that channel and now he has to pay some 4K Additional of the LE. yeah LE's White Alloys looks beautiful but i don't know if i had that how i could have maintained it

Also the White Color of RTR and ZMR's are Different than the R15's White color. R15 White has a small grey tint it, a Kinda Shadow feel..

      • Went to Perfect rider and Orion for tyres. please confirm if price is correct or both of them are charging more

        Front 1800 (Orion), 2000(Perfect rider)
        Rear 2500 (Both service center).

Sadly checked most showrooms in JC road Bangalore none of them have in stock. can someone please help with tyre dealers in banglore who have these tyres in stock.

@parth are you sure it is 3.5A becuase stock battery in my bike is black colour tata green and i remember seeing 12V 2.5A on it.

Rear Tire is Rs 1800. No Idea about the Front! But definitely lesser than Rs 1800.

          A Question.

Anyone who's changed the fork oil? At what odo reading is it supposed to be changed if it does not overflow by then?
Anyone who's changed their T Cone set ( Handle)? More details on it, would be appreciated.

          • This is a small review for the free flow exhaust from Joel.

I presume this is a stage one exhaust. First impression: its loud. It really is. At lower rpms, you can differentiate between every beat. But as soon as the exhaust starts to rev up from 2.5k rpm all the way till 6k rpm, the aural experience is amazing. And it revs effortlessly.

One thing I noticed, with the stock exhaust, you feel the power surge from 7k onwards. But this has smoothened out the torque curve. It feels powerful, rather torquey right from 2.5k till 10k. I've revved it to max only twice. And I felt it was much quicker. Atleast 10-15% quicker than stock. This is just how I felt. The bike accelerates real fast.

Talking about the acoustics, it does sound like an R1 (2009, plz don't stone me!) when the beats overlap, at 4k+ rpm. The exhaust has a deep resonating bass. And it screams as well... Right from 7k to redline. Everyday while exiting my office parking, I pass a row of parked cars, and I trigger every car's security system. It ensures a grand exit.

After I installed it, mine felt like a Growler as compared to Gibran's new one. His seems like the megaphone type. Looks amazing. But is quieter than my exhaust.

Well, I've heard quite a few bangs, especially during quick deceleration, from 6-7k. Also during quick acceleration. Largely, the bangs happen after blipping before downshifting. The blips sound so awesome... This feels like a proper performance exhaust, with the unburnt fuel exploding at the canister end (which indicates fuelling is correct). I still get goosebumps when I recall the bangs...

It feels totally worth the money spent. My only qualm with this exhaust is the attraction it gets. And on solo rides, sometimes you don't want a growling, loud exhaust. You want to cruise... Smoothly and silently. But anyways, there's no win-win situation. Although its a trade off, 75% of the time I'm in a mindset where I appreciate the sound of my bike. 25%, well, I wish I had a silent stock exhaust. But that's just me.

Well, what more, I would have liked to add 0-60 & 0-100 acceleration time, but I haven't found time & safe space to do testing. Will do so soon. And I've missed out on the biggest thing, pics & videos. Sorry I'm stalling, but will post them very soon...
            You get the point?? :D

Good to see(Not exactly ) that up on the R15
Is it a direct plug and play fit? Can you PM me the details?
Before that, do post some photos and most importantly a VIDEO!

Great write-up, but you've still not given real 0-60 and 0-100 time values. We would love to see those since they are the true indicators of increase in performance. From what I hear, the R15 with just the free flow cans doesn't show performance increase to a great level. The entire racing kit by daytona, which includes
                      1. Exhaust
                      2. ECU
                      3. High lift cams
                      4. Back footpeg kit
                      5. Larger driver and driven sprockets
                      5. Petal discs front and back
                      others (if I'm missing something)

can only shave off around 1 sec to 1.5 secs off the bikes 0-60 values. And also, the max top speed claimed is 151kmph by the Yamaha test team.

It would be great if you give us some similar data
                      D'oh!

Ha ha ha, I would love to have that exhaust, hope Joel is making exhaust for 250R as I believe Gibran would be going for it.

                        The blips sound so awesome...

                        For your pleasure.

How many guys are using full synthetic oil and feel that their level isn't dipping?

If it isn't dipping, I might take the plunge and would change at 3-4K interval.

                          Hi all,

My 6 month old r15 had just got done with the 5 free service at the 12,000km mark. Things that have been taken care of include :-

                          New Air filter
New Oil filter (haven't replaced at10k)
Oil change (Motul 5W40 Fully synthetic) I have been using Motul 5w40 Fully synthetic since 6000kms and i have not experienced oil level going down.

Checked and adjusted the valve clearance, all engine bolts and mounts have been checked, swingarm and steering bearings have been lubricated with grease.

Waiting for Ngk iridium cr8eix, its not in stock as of now. will get it in about a weeks time. Happy ridin guys

scenario for superbikes are different they have these exauhst as stock and moreover policemen don't know about these bikes so they don't mess with them. but for R15 they will object when they see different exauhst [not stock] and loud sound from it. or there is some remedy i will love to have a free flow exhaust on my R15.
