  • guys can the muffler be detached from the bike without completely removing the exhaust??

      Its just Petrol Vapours escaping through the venting hole on the fuel cap. Just open the cap and let the vapour escape if it bothers

        Naa... Not possible. The sound was purely mechanical. Like that of a handheld battery fan running. And bro, how can the petrol vapour sound keep coming continuously??? And that too after fixed intervals.

            Today i changed my R15's rear alloy wheel and Yamaha AIMS Dombivili charged me Rs 3350 for Rear alloy wheel.

            Changed Chain spocket too for Rs 3450.

            Is it really so expensive ?? I doubt dombivili Aims Yamaha is cheating us in our area??

            Have any one changed their rear alloy and chain sprocket and for what cost ??

              Dude go some where else for servicing but not in aims yamaha, they just say ki prices have been increased and take double the money. There they say rear disc pads cost 1245rs
              n more over they svc guys there are not proper, i remember they did my servicing and replaced the cone set (3000rs+350rs labour),, n after servcing they didnt tighten the engine oil screw below and i didnt noticed it n tooked the delivery.
              then after few days again i came back because the cone set was not properly fitted and when i showed they said ki "cone set me ka thread kharab hua hai and all"
              i said what ever it is just do it properly and after its done one guy came and asked me whether i have been in local garage (which i didnt).. i said no, then he said ok and when i asked him why he asked such question toh he said aise he,, i kept on asking him why he asked this question toh he said ki niche ka engine oil ka screw loose hai and oil pura gir gaya hai.. i was like wtf !! n called the manager (Mr.Vijay) and told him about this,, he re-filled the engine oil level and when i was about to leave he started scolding the guy because he told me about the screw :X


              instead of giving your bike in Aims yamaha (dombivli, thane both are same) ,, personally i have visited every service centre here i would suggest you to go in parel (Kamla yamaha) i know its far but those peoples are good n pretty much much experienced, you have to take the appointment one day before.

                  I know this all thing but still not sure where to go. I am going to try for Vikroli Yamaha there my frnd does the servcing and he is charged normally.. I see Cone set issue is common in all 1+ yrs R15.... Even he don't give proper bill. He gives a printed bill. like Paint Job in Word.

                  So i booked Cl500. to get reed of this Yamaha People. I mailed Yamaha about this but they are like give us proof and other stuff.I mailed them the bill but still no answers. Yamaha is useless.

                    Hey Guys,

                    Needed a quick advise, since yesterday bike is showing no life when i turn on the ignition key, it is as numb as in off state.
                    Got serviced 500 Km before and no accident, its just dead.

                    Tried to start it through gear and succeeded only to find that the engine fails to rev up, producing weird sounds and the engine warning lights come up.

                    Don't have time today as well to go to SVC, in case this problem is known to anyone, solution and tips would be appreciated.

                      Engine warning light comes up only when the bike has had a fall or the electricals of the bike have been messed up...Since you havent had an accident it means something has gone wrong inside with the electricals.. Go to the SVC asap- only option -as R15 is not every mechanic's cup of tea hence self repair or local mechanics might further mess up..

                        just check whether the battery terminals are properly fastened..
                        if they are, then source a multimeter and check the terminal voltage, it should be more than 12V in any case, normal is 13-14V DC.
                        after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

                        • Display remains DEAD on turning the keys to ignition?

                          Hi Guys,
                          I am facing this frustrating issue from a long time now as it comes and corrects itself after few days then it kicks in again.

                          When I turn the keys to ignition the display wont get powered.. will stay dead as if the keys are not even thr.. though the self start will work and i can ride normally, radiator fan works fine, Headlights work, horn... everything is okay
                          Just that the display is not powered..
                          When it happened for the first time, I quitted office and took it to YMSC at pune M.g road straight away without restarting the engine...
                          they inspected and told as it all electronic we will have to change the whole diaplay as its out of warranty cost = 7.5K+etc. So, I planned to get that done on the weekend.. then 2 days later the display came on like normal .. where in the trip meter registered the Kms travelled while it was gone..so I was further confused..
                          Now this has happened for 2-3 times now but is very irritating !

                          I searched and came across Yahoo <http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091025222602AAoAKl1>

                          the guys suggests to pull wires below the seat.. but I fear that could create another nuisance.. and what wire exactly to pull is also not mentioned?

                          Kindly suggest a solution !!
