  • Guys,

Just today i booked R 15 Version 2.0 Midnight Black , with Rs 10000 as booking payment in Chennai Ambal Motors ... Total Bike price is Rs 125000

There was no model for display , he told he will make a call when the bike arrives ..

Please tell me what are the details i shoul ask when i go to take the bike ?

For Registration he told , if i do it by Showroom , then u can pick only the Serial numbers which you are given to choose like just 10-20 numbers ..but when u go to the RTO office , he told u can choose even Fancy numbers ..

I want to do the Teflon Coating , to sustain the shine ? when can i do it and where can i do it and how much charge will it take ?

I want to change the Headlamps like Eyes modification , how much does it cost and he told the mechanic in Ambal Showroom itself will do it but the Warranty for Headlamps will be gone ..

Please say which Petrol can i put for R15 V2.0 ..Many say u should put the same brand petrol , dont change it ..so that u will get mileage ..

    Please clear my doubts

    Thanks

      • Got my Tyres Changed

        Hi All,
Got my baby R1's tyres changed.
Now she has new shoes to make the run

        Cost me Rs 4700 (Rear -Rs 2500 , Front - Rs 2200)

I sticked to the stock tyres as i loved them for the grip that it offered me for the past 23000Kms .
Now she badly needs some curvy roads,

        Hope this info helps.

        Cheers

I have posted this in tyres thread also, but didn't get any answers--

how is r15 rear tyre in terms of wet traction, wet braking, wet cornering, how is the overall grip in rains??

I am thinking to fit it in my p150, i believe the size will match it is 100/80-r17 is it? And it is zapper-s. Currently i am using r15 front tyre on my bike and very happy with its performance. Pulsar stock tyre size for rear is 100/90, so sizewise it seems ok.
v1.0 r15 tyre does nor provide good grip in wet roads....even a small amount water in tyre ...will make u slip...

              BS!
All my rain rides of 2011 have been on my r15. I have never faced any problem in the grip of these tyres. IMO these are THE best OEM tyres coming on any bike I have seen untill now (Havent seen a lot of CBR and Duke in wet though)

Wet grip is fine, you wouldnt be cornering in rains anyway. If you intend to do so, then you might need a Bridgestone Battlax for your bike... which would wear very soon in dry conditions!

              • guys, i lost the air screw and the idling screw. Now the bike idles at 3k rpm and there is a big noise like a train. I gave it to the svc centre and they said they have to place an order for the air screw and it would take 15-20 days.
He also said that riding without the air screw will increase the fuel consumption.

where can i get the air screw. I'm from Coimbatore and i enquired here, Erode and Chennai. But no use.
                what should i do now?

P.S i have exams from 3rd, so i need bike.

                • today while riding at around 120 i decelerated and pulled in the clutch and the bike died, did this a few more times to check if this was a persistent problem and it hapeened almost every time.
what could be the reason for this??

r15 tyres are soft comound i had heard many telling that....soft compound tyres loose their grip when wet...correct me if i am wrong.

                        • ^^^ well consider yourself corrected!!! ;-)... Is it your assumption or did someone tell you that a soft compound tyre will loose grip in the wet? A soft compound tyre in fact works well in the wet as it warms up faster and does not require heavy loading to retain ideal operating temperature. In fact the stock R15 tyres are some of the stickiest stock tyres in the wet on any Indian bike. Really confidence inspiring.

                              • DUH!!!! If you brake hard in the wet then you are bound to skid!! No matter what tyres you have, never brake hard in the wet, unless you have abs. And even with abs i wudnt risk it.
