The upgrade from 165cc is not yet confirmed though. May be If the upgrade happens then probably should I try and trade my 165cc set up and keep my stock?. I thought I could use some money for the new upgrade. Any ways I will wait for the upgrade to happen and then decide right?

@ abimanyu. Thank you. I was having the same idea in my mind, But I am planning for a upgrade from the existing 165cc set up. So I thought I keep my 165cc set up as back up and sell the stock if possible.

+1. I have packed them with bubble wrap and safely stored in a corner.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View Post^^^ my advice.... Don't sell the parts. Clean, pack & properly store them for a rainy day...
Anyway, selling them for peanuts(considering there's no market for second hand goodies here) won't help much either.

Hello Guys
. I own R15 V 2.0 . Sorry for posting here. In v2 thread i din't get any response regarding this .
When driving on highways around 50-70 km/hr and then After reaching the city limits , when i pulled the bike from stand still position , When the RPM needle crossed 2 - 2.5 k mark , there was a strange sound from the engine ( like Chuck chuck chuck ( that sound disappeared after crossing 3 k RPM marks , this sound persisted in 1st,2nd and 3rd gear ). But , I'm not telling the gear knocking sound ) but after it crossed 3 k RPM mark that sound disappeared. Whats was that sound ?.
Help me please .Always Ride with Complete Riding Gears and Don't Violate the Speed Limits

is it repetitive? how loud was/is it?from where/which side of the engine did you hear it? can you re-create it?Originally posted by [IN]BeTrayedxD View PostHello Guys

Well i'l try my best to explain .
If i take my bike for a ride for first 10 km's if i drive @ 50 km/hr or above i cannot hear that sound . But then if i drive at 10 km'hr - 35 km'hr ( in traffic areas ) i can hear that chuck chuck chuck sound from the left side part of the engine ( While crossing 2 k -2.5 k RPM in 1st,2nd and 3 rd gear ) but once it touches 3 k RPM , the sound disappears . Even if i wear a helmet i can easily hear that sound , if i remove my helmet the sound will be very audible ( It's annoying ) . But when i give more throttle , the sound will be less audible .Last edited by [IN]BeTrayedxD; 05-13-2012, 05:22 PM.Always Ride with Complete Riding Gears and Don't Violate the Speed Limits

it could be the chain, just examine the chain for bent links..Originally posted by [IN]BeTrayedxD View PostWell i'l try my best to explain .

Well the gears had become super super tall, ( 4th was good beyond 100 kmph, and 5th 120. ). The good part was that the bike was cruising at a lower engine rpm for a cruise speed of say 100-110 kmph.Originally posted by veyron999 View Post
and bro i read somewhere that you'd tried the FZ rear sprocket, how did that experiment go?
planning a tour to goa 1000kms from where i stay, any tips would surely be handy!
thanks again..
p.s. went for the duke after all eh?? nice nice.. :P
The bad part was that the bike had lost all of the quick acceleration, and was really really sad if you were riding with a pillion. All gears could be pulled longer, however the only benefit was the lower engine speed, which did give slightly better mileage, but dint work overall. I would do it maybe for going long distance, in the interest of a lower cruising engine rpm, but thats about it.
Where I would love to experiment with some sprocketing is in the duke, due to the oodles of low end torque and low gear ratios.

Had cold start problem last week. So I had it repaired in SVC, and the reason said by them was "wrong valve timing"! wonder how it goes wrong suddenly!
But after they repaired it i am seeing frequent "overheating indicator" glowing up in the display console. Whenever i rev it the indicator goes ON. Wonder what the SVC guys did to the bike :XRx is a Phoenix!!! It always rise from ashes!!

If they would have set the valve clearances too tight, it could have been possible that the valves were remaining open and no compression was happening when cold.
However the overheat indication is a cause for concern. Is the bike overheating? Is the fan switching on??

^^ They have put mineral oil in the engine ( for 235 rs ). The minimum I would recommend is putting the semi synth engine oil ( around 400 rs if i remember correctly ). Better would be to put the yamalube fully synth ( motul ) around 900 rs a litre, however remember to change the oil filter.

thanks bro,
I did use to fill semi synthetic oil in the engine earlier but didn't find any significant difference in the engine smoothness or in overall performance, so from last few servicing I started filling Yamalube 4T
(wrong decision may be)
Are thare any plus points of using synthetic oil apart from increasing engines life?
and yeah the oil filter, they said it still has got a life so m gonna replace in the next service
