Thanks, hope the accessories are here soon too. The color is tough to match. Last time he painted them white&they looked like they fell into cement!
If powder coat works out on the accessories too, then its a one-time solution for all those (including me) who had cribbbed about them fading inspite of being expensive.
Same applies for the silencer too.
man...looks delicious
how much for the billet-aluminium levers?
can the ones from Apache be installed on the R15?
RIDE SAFE
Had bought them for Rs.1000&1100 some 3+ years back. They got faded in a few months. You can go through the accessories brochure posted by someone long back for all the parts.
As for RTR levers, they don't fit, but rubbing the paint off the stock levers with sandpaper will give you equivalent look.
Nothing like the billet accessories though-the feel is entirely different!

The fairing costs roughly 500/- and stickering will cost you around 250 or more, so i would suggest put a new one instead of putting money and wasting your sticker too.
@ everyone - Any idea which all Fully synthetic oil apart from motul go fine with R15.
Please recommend the ones you all have tried with the results you got
I got NGK Iridium Spark Plug, Split Fire cable and Handle Bar Grips of a brand named "Givi"
Spark Plug: INR 500
Cable: INR 350
Grips: INR 145
I installed the Spark Plug Today and finding it better than the OEM one, which was also NGK. not much difference in the feel while riding but its there nonetheless.
also the mechanic at Castrol Bike Point couldn't install the cable as the original one couldn't be removed from its point.
when I went to Auto Queen, Cochin, the shopkeeper at first didn't asked me what I want instead his first question was "XBHP?"
I was fully geared and maybe thats how he guessed it
Can anyone tell me how can I get the split fire cable installed on my R15 V1.0?
Photo 1 is of the NGK spark plug and the Split Fire cable
Photo 2 is of the old spark plug which was Fine except occasionally, randomly and inconsistently not getting the Engine started(only when Engine is hot).....had to thumb the starter 2-3 times when it happened. no other issues. I am keeping it as a spare now. 10300kms on the odometer
I hate MINDA, this name has gathered up so much hate in my heart that even if there was a smokin' supermodel named MINDA who wanted to do me, I'd throw her off my fu(king balcony.
I don't know why Yamaha opted for this cheap brand when they already had TATA Green.
I brought the bike on 14th May 2010 and got a minda battery. I had asked the dealer to get me a Tata Green battery but there was this event that I had to be a part of on 16th may and the bike with the tata green battery would arrive only by 17. So I asked if he'd replace the battery on 17 if I take the one with minda and he said no problem.
While returning from the event, I had a stupid crash due to the incredible braking power of the r15. and the latch of the battery box broke. The dealer said that now he couldn't replace the battery as there were 2-3 scratches on it as the battery moved around in the box due to the absence of the latch.
I was SCREWED.
Fast forward 17 months and 16000kms and the battery started to show it's age. The ridiculous thing was my friend who has a 2008 model r15 with a bigger horn and hids installed since day 2 of his ownership did not report any battery related problems.
Yesterday I was 7-8 kms away from home and when I started the bike (push start of course, the battery is fu(ked remember) and started to roll the bike wouldn't rev past 2-2.5k rpm. The battery had lost so much charge that it wasn't even giving enough power to the fuel injection system to put fuel in the cylinder. Had to ride 8kms back home as constant 12kmphr. cycle wallas were going faster than me
I asked around and found that only TATA Green manufactures a battery small enough to install in the r15's battery box.
But when I asked at the dealership, they said 2300 for the tata green. I said F.U.
I called up a friend who has had a karizma for like 2003-04 and asked him. He told me to STFU and hang onto my fone. 5 minutes later my phone rang and 30 minutes later a guy was standing at my doorstep with 12 (yes, twelve) batteries as he was not sure which one would fit in my bike.
I made a mental note to buy my friend with the karizma a couple of cold ones when we meet. He really hoked me up. I couldn't go out and roam in the market for a battery replacement as I'm in the middle of exams. Friends are AWESOME.
So next was to pick a battery and install it in.
We started from the smallest one, Z-power or some brand. It was a direct fit but was a local brand and it was a wet battery so straight away no-no.
Then 4-5 other batteries didn't fit. And the guy that came with them gave up. He said that the battery box will need to be cut. I said how much time would it take, he said 2 hours. I thought kal paper hai, 2 ghante bike mein lgaunga toh mummy khoon kr dengi.
I asked him to connect the battery to the terminals and put the battery in the underseat storage area. Plan worked and the bike finally was ALIVE.
The Battery that I chose was/is an AMARON 5ah Probike/Probiker(I don't really remember). 2 years free of cost replacement warranty and after that 2 years warranty after some depreciation.
Paid him 1400bucks plus the old battery and he was on his way. The price seems reasonable as he came to my house a good 10 kms away and also tried to **** around with the battery box.
When he was gone, I took a closer look at the battery box. The fu(ker has foam at the bottom. Took that shit out and the battery fit like a charm. The only issue was that it was kinda loose in there.
Took some rags and stuffed them in there so make the battery sit tight, reconnected the terminals and I'm golden.
Alright enough of the update, I gotta go study. Ride Safe you guys.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
1.Is it possible to install V2's swing arm on V1 without any modification?
2.is there any deference between V1 and V2's shocker?
i dont think thats a good idea! from the design perspective, changing an enitre swingarm without modifications is not possible from my point of view, of course we ll have to do a through comparison first.....btw why do you want to change it in the first place?
from what i know the shockers are the same
No its not about speed, its about turning and shifting those gears!
