seriously! i wasted 300bucks on that! its better you get it done from some place other than an official showroom! later i found that an actual teflon coat doesnt even cost Rs300!Originally posted by stefanm View PostNo such thing as Telfon coating for your vehicle! demand to see the 'Teflon' when they come up empty handed slap everyone there, at least that way you get your VFM!
anyway lesson learnt!
No its not about speed, its about turning and shifting those gears!

Serious Help Needed
Km Done = 11,000
Date of Purchase of bike : 31st Oct 2010
Current Problem = Mileage
Problem faced on the bike : Engine Over Heating (problem got solved after 3 services (6 months) even after telling them to check the Radiator Fan and thats what they did in the last)
I ride in the city road, not much of traffic where i travel. Not Ripping. Fueled up with Rs. 100 Petrol (just to check average) From Bharat Petroleum (Rs. 71.92 Per ltr)
All i got from Rs 100 Petrol is 42 Km .. Is it all i could really get ? or is it that my engine is screwed up because of the problem i have faced which Yamaha took so long to fix?
Besides, My Tyre Pressure was perfect, Chain was Lubed perfect, No issue's with breaking and so on as i believe .
Saddest part is my friends too have R15's .. and they get much more Mileage than i do.
Please help

@free2rock_50: How are you checking the mileage? Don't depend entirely on the F meter as it comes on during running&later when you park the bike on side stand&restart it will show 2 bars.
In the meanwhile, check the coolant level&whether it is being supplied to the radiator via the hose pipe or not. In my friend's case, the inspection window on the side showed full but the bike was overheating. On examination, we found that the hose pipe was not supplying coolant to the radiator at all.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Back from a round trip to Ooty. Covered around 1500 kms in 4 days.
First time in my baby's life ,it got the taste of ghats and twisties and first time in my life I got to know wat this bike is meant for.
Just WOW
the way she corners on twisties is mind blowing. The stability, the way she carries speeds at corners is unbelievable.
Ahh I love my R15

its a quite simple job. Tools required : hacksaw blade and a person who has used the hacksaw before. Its just a 5min job and it comes out quite well. The quality of the work is dependent on the skill of the person cutting it. If you give to anyone, they'll do the same thing. I recommend that you get it done from a local trusted mechanic or the best - yourself. SVC asked Rs200 for that job. Its a new way for robbing the customers. Please do not get fooled.Originally posted by Raneet View PostNeed a help. Anyone has any idea how much R15 v2 fender eliminates costs?

hmm, check your fuel sensors, maybe the reading is wrong ,sometimes the sensors get screwed and show a false reading, next check if your getting the right amount of fuel.....other than this i hope there is nothing wrong..Originally posted by free2rock_50 View PostSerious Help Needed

@ sundarvignesh
You may not believe me,
I feel R15s are more identical than any other bike in India, due to the Quality. All I suspect is on the Riding style, clutch usage and the way you apply throttle etc.

It is not advisable to push-start FI bikes, as it does damage the fuel-pump (based on knowledge gained from this forum). A few push-starts should do fine though.Originally posted by Parth View PostMy bike's battery is dead after 1.5 years of use. I don't have much time to get it replaced till a couple of days. Does push-starting a fuel injected bike cause any long term problems?
Get the battery replaced ASAP.
Apart from Sarvajit's suggestions, do check that the air-filter is clean. A clogged air-filter will hamper performance, & reduce Fuel Efficiency.Originally posted by free2rock_50 View PostSerious Help Needed

You mean "Rear Fender". Add "Eliminator", & the meaning changes!!Originally posted by Raneet View Postbro, i do not intend to "ELIMINATE" my bike's rear fender...
i just want to install the "REAR FENDER ELIMINATOR" aka "NUMBER PLATE HOLDER" of the new R15 V 2.0.
The v2.0 has just been launched, & I seriously doubt that the rear fender will be available as a spare so soon.
Also, I have serious doubts that it can be replaced for the v1.0's. The design & size of the fender at the top (Where it sits into the tail) is different.
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I am not checking the F meter. I select the no# 1 and reset it to zero and than checked for the same .. Coolant level is full but will have to check with its Flow. i would get that checked immediately .Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@free2rock_50: How are you checking the mileage? Sure . will get it check asap. And also i was thinking of getting a Simota Air filter and not using the stock. shall i take a move ahead in getting it or shall i still stick to stock till around 20000 KM or more ?Originally posted by tibby View PostApart from Sarvajit's suggestions, do check that the air-filter is clean. I will get back to you guys pretty soon after getting all of the above checked and after performing a mileage test again

well if you're fuel bars are fluctuating frequently even while riding on a straight then you ought to get it checked, this is just one of the symptoms, in mine it is severe, when below half tank the gauge goes crazy, once it even went blank!Originally posted by free2rock_50 View Posthow would i check the fuel sensors? i hope i dont have to replace anything . would the svc guys do it ? and i guess m getting the right amount of fuel.
im waiting for a replacement in the next service.
Get your air filter also checked as tibby said!

no bro that part is called a "REAR FENDER ELIMINATOR"Originally posted by tibby View PostYou mean "Rear Fender". Add "Eliminator", & the meaning changes!!

try searching eBay or Google image search with the key word...
"REAR FENDER" is the "REAR MUD GUARD" that the V 1.0 had...
and I want to retrofit V 2.0 rear fender eliminator on my P220...
so I just needed the price...
No issues, if anyone of you happen to visit Yamaha soon for service or anything, please inquire about the price for me.
Thanks a lot in advance.
