thanks for replying shrinathrao..Originally posted by shrinathrao View Posthey nitin i read some posts back that you had done some modifications in your R15 headlight assembly and did a long good tour. So how was the effect and till how far you could see with the modifications?
For R15, i doubt the Faridabad service center but there is a setco yamaha service center close to paharganj and i think that is a authorised service center. You can talk to incubus royd from pune xbhp as he had rode from pune to leh via delhi and serviced his fazer there.
I put in Philips premium 55W bulb (80 Rs) in high beam.. disconnected the pilot bulbs to save 10W.. and use high beam 55W bulb only when RPM is abouve 5K (which is always in my case
).. adjust the high beam a bit with the screws below handle bar..
2 minutes job and atleast 50-60% improvement in light..
Yeah, Royd went there on his Leh ride.. he is also part of out local riding group Bladerunnerzzz...
but m looking for something in Faridabad only..

Hi Guys,
Need help on my R15 headlamps. I currently have 2X35 W OSRAM Halogen bulbs. But I observed the output is pathetic. So I am planning to install 2X55W with LED pilot lamps. Can anybody help me on the brand which I should go for and the price for the same.
It would be nice if anybody can tell where can I buy in bangalore and what wil be the approx cost???2009 - Pulsar UG4- 28,000 Kms
2010 - Santro Xing - 9,900 Kms
2011 - YZF - R15 - 2,000 Kms

hey bro, thanks for the reply and i will try the same suggestion you gave as current setup of 35 w stock sucks in city in low beam with range hardly of 3 meters and high beam HID also is useless as it hardly covers 4- 5 meters and rest it shows sign boards which are 100 meters away hanging on left side of the road.Originally posted by Nitin_traveller View Postthanks for replying shrinathrao..

But i am wondering whether the 55 W doesh have good illumination on the stock reflectors and does it effects the stock battery?
@sarvajit - stop joking as your this joke is giving me goose bumps.
@tibby - welcome back

Ya I completely agree with you Shrinath bhai!!! When I had been on a solo ride I could observe that the light was on some sign board on the left hand side instead of Road. So its pathetic and I would want to change it as soon as possible into 2X55W with LED Pilot lamps. And I need suggestion on the same.Originally posted by shrinathrao View Posthey bro, thanks for the reply and i will try the same suggestion you gave as current setup of 35 w stock sucks in city in low beam with range hardly of 3 meters and high beam HID also is useless as it hardly covers 4- 5 meters and rest it shows sign boards which are 100 meters away hanging on left side of the road.

Orange light
Hi guys,
I was travelling this morning from Hyderabad to Guntur and after doing 100 km's my horn kinda died and after sometime the orange light was glowing.I always keep the low beam on while riding on highways.I switched off the light and the orange light went away for a while but then it came back and stayed that way.
There was also this tak-tak sound while accelerating in first and second gears as if something is slipping inside the engine. My bike has done 32000 km's and I feel the chain sprockets have given up.
let me know your thoughts. I will be taking it for servicing.Luckily the bike didn't die in the middle of the journey.Yes, I have seen GOD. He wears the no. 46 and rides a Yamaha errr Ducati :)

I assume, you have tried adjusting the headlight focus already..
55W can NOT be better than an HID.. but its definitely better than the stock setup.. with some focus adjustment, I am happy..

Same issue i faced some days back and realised that this issue was due to sensor in the speedo assembly, got it replaced for free as the bike was under warranty.Originally posted by tharikiran View PostHi guys,

Take to authorised service center and check it.
@ nitin - so you think reverting from 35 W HID to 55 W stock wont be of great help. Also would like to know if you know anywhere in pune i can get projectors for 35W hid as i think that should solve my issue upto a certain extent.

hey all!
have any of you found a permanent solution for the chain. Im getting it lubed every two weeks and still the rate at which its corroding is depressing !
these rains and everyday trips to work have resulted in this....
No its not about speed, its about turning and shifting those gears!

I would say,
1. adjust the headlight if not already done.
2. try using 55W bulb.. or checkout on someone's bike, who have already used it.. low cost sollution.. can check on my bike post diwali week sometime.. OR if you stay near Baner or Kunal Icon area..

WOW, people are advising 55W bulbs for R15. Nice way of destroying your reflectors due to heat generated by 55W bulbs, which can be only replaced by spending Rs: 2200 for new assembly. Oh and don't forget to replace your 3 Amp battery which will also face the early demise.
