Finally got my beautiful red R15.. And what a beauty she is!
Took delivery from Perfect Riders Bangalore and have completed 76 km..
Tried her out in both heavy city traffic as well as a short ring-road run, all the while keeping in mind not to maintain steady rpm's.. Been riding as i would normally, not being too gentle and not being too hard.. Keeping it mostly between 3k rpm and 5k rpm wherever possible on slightly empty stretches of road..This is a VERY different machine from what we've been used to so far.. Sounds different, feels different. Love the exhaust note and the deep, muffled startup grunt. One thing psyched me out a lil -- A lil 'tiki-tiki-tiki' sound coming from the engine during idling and when accelerating from lower rpm's (2k). Thought it was a tappet problem or somethin at first, was thinking of going to the dealer the very next day to confront him with this issue. Luckily met a fellow R15er at a chai stall late at night, and asked him to listen and tell me if it was normal. He said it was perfectly normal on an R15 and started his engine to show me. Quite relieved after that i must say.. Phew...
Does the bike make a buzzing sound for a few secs to warn u of extremely low fuel? Coz when i was riding to the petrol bunk from the dealer, the last flashing fuel gauge rectangle disappeared and this buzzing sound scared the living daylights outta me!

Engine feels a lil rough between the 3k to 4k rpm range, a lil vibration too. Is it coz its a new engine and needs to run-in and smoothen out?
Will do an oil change at 100km to drain out the particles of metal. This is one thing i thought made sense from Motoman's run-in method. How much is a can of regular Yamalube mineral oil?
Headlights are totally out of focus, thought the dealer wud atleast adjust the beams properly..
Cant see Jack-sh*t at night. High beam actually pointing at the sky!
Looking for the post where headlight beam adjustment is explained.Horn is surprisingly loud, not like the horn provided on earlier R15s.. This was a welcome surprise.
All in all am exhilarated with my first day wit the baby-R, and looking forward to many miles of touring with my buddies!!
Will upload pics asap, left my camera at a friends place like an idiot..
Hitting the sack now with a slight back-ache, gotta get used to the riding position i guess.. Find it quite comfy tho.Cheers to all fellow R15ers and Cheers to this awesome thread thats jus becoming bigger and bigger everyday!

..
so you think it'll eat up the battery?
