Nope, the new lot of R15 engines are now no longer imported from Indonesia, its assembled in INDIA, thanks to the new plant... and enjoy the MINDA battery as well....

Can you mention the source of your information about the above (In BOLD)??

Because I dont think that Yamaha is manufacturing the R15 engines in India. If they were manufacturing the engines in India then the OTR price of the bike would have come down below 1 Lac atleast.

                • Engines are still being made in Indonesia.
Yes Battery is Minda and indian made . So what , does that make the new R15 inferior than yours?

                  • hey guys,
got my 1st service done today at 1110 km. Took my buddy to Perfect Riders, Lalbagh. bike now feels smoooooooth.. lovin it! gears are terrific now. Tappets were adjusted, and thats the service guy's excuse for the idling being low. i think its a tad too low coz the bike stutters sometimes on idling. idle engine speed is abt 1.1 - 1.2k rpm.. any advice on this?

will try Bangalore Wheels for the next service, jus to see if they're better.

take care u guys and happy safe ridin!!

                    Cheers....

In India free replacement of auto parts(Service call back) is something new for me. I am very much impressed with yamaha now.
                      Yes Yamaha.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Absolutely, no issues with the radiator too, but as many here have complained of leakage and cracks, so better be a little prepared. Anyone from Pune, can confirm about the replacement or adjustments to the radiator? Or I'll just check up with the Factory shop and some others and let you know asap.

                          • Got my LE R15 2 weeks back and speedo stopped working after 3 days. When called dealer, he asked to get the motorcycle so that issue can be rectified. After inspection they decided to replace the speedo. Right indicator switch stopped working and had to press 2 times of turn off the indicator, was assured to replacement during first service.

Also I noticed there is a humming sound from the motorcycle when it is running, the sound increases as I accelerate and drops down during decelaration. Any idea what could be the issue ?

                            • there is no need to change the radiator if it is free from problems. just change the coolant. i am in the habit of draining my coolant,to replace with redimix coolant, every six months.

                              • The R15 engine is now being made in india. And as per the info i have, the clutch has been modified to remove the noise of the clutch housing, by installing the clutch housing of the FZ.

So now we need a confirmation from someone with a 2010 model thats gotten the clutch cover opened, for clutch inspection to confirm whether the clutch is from the FZ.
