  • @navnish - I asked Killer to contact you on the HID thingy coz I have no clue on this apart from fiddling with engines
Now what do you suggest me? What if we can get the same stuff from "Got HID Xenon?", how much will it cost? I dont mind plonking 2 bi-xenon HIDs as well. But I dont wanna spend a fortune on all this.

    • ^Already ordered the 4300k kit from gothidxenon. I've done my homework on HID's and that kit is more than enough for us dude, i'll explain why when i talk to you next.

        • A lot happening over lights for R15. Would anyone mind posting (even in their blogs) a vid or pics with full explanation for changing the R15 stock lights with new HIDs. It would greatly benefit all the owners. Thanks

            • ^ Ok, if you say so! Like you said, if I go for a 60/55w bulb, it should be a direct fit right? And hows your battery doing after powering twin HID's?

@ DriftKingNT- I have indeed ridden without the helmet. There is very little noise which comes from the chain, but that cannot be nullified. After all, the chain makes some mechanical noise while its at work! But definately its not the dirty/non-lubricated chain noise. Anyways, as long as it does not harm the O-rings or the chain, it should be fine.

@ Souvik- Where do you stay bro? Maybe I'll also visit the showroom soon. Want to see it badly, and pick up a tank pad atleast!
              You get the point?? :D

                  • Craking of alloys

Was going through a Auto magazine, I believe it was Overdive Dec. issue. There was a complain from a BMW 5 series owner that his alloys had cracked. As said in the magazine the car has low profile tyres resulting in the cracks, and when complained by the owned to BMW as this had occured with normal use without having any accidents, they refused to replace the alloys under warrenty. The owner was furious as he had spent a good sum of money and even after that there was cracking of alloy. So, its the roads that are sub-standard not the product. Thankfully we dont have much of pot holes in Chandigarh

Dont know how come is is working fine with you. In my case it used to make a lot of noise. It could be heard through helmet even when the bike was in 5k rpm range. It is all gone after I applied Yamaha. No noise at all. I have also felt some improvement in the throttle response and the bike is feeling much smoother.

Dirt was there. I could see it with my eyes. Clearly visible layer of dust on the chain. And After I opened the Front sprocket cover it had like a 1-2cm big heap of dirt stuck at the bottom.

About the O-rings Motul will not harm it. I am sure.

And now lets stop this discussion.. You are happy with Motul and I am happy with Yamaha. That is what really matter.

                      • use 1 60/55w for best results without battery being drained. Have another HID on the other side. In the city, use the bulb , On the Highway have the HID on.

use osram silverstar . 200 rs. great bulb.
Make sure u switch ur lights off at the signal.

Problem with hid in the city is the absorption factor, u have the whole world looking at u cos its beautiful , but the reality is that what u can see is just mediocre.Yellow light rules in the city.

Exactly why you should not be using over 4300k

U just stole my words. On our muddy looking street roads, 6000k and above will give you hardly any visibility.
                              4300K is the best bet.
I'm also planning on a 55/60 night breaker for the left and a 4300k HID on the right. More than enuff for me. It will be 10 times better than the crappy stock lights.

its not bout odd.. its about practicality with us out here.We use the bike for a purpose rather than its looks..
Plus , u dont need to switch on both at a time. Only hid or oly 60/55w.
