40-42kmpl (approx). I have done 2800kms with just 1 service. I do rip the bike.

Last Saturday I gave my bike to a friend and he fell down resulting in scratches around and a broken LHS rear view mirror. Got the mirror replaced on Sunday at Pearl for Rs 150/-. I wanted to replace other parts also but they were out of stock. BTW, Pearl has the center stand.

ps: I locked my house (in begumpet) at sharp 9am. Went to ATM for the cash. Then headed for Pearl Yamaha. It was 9:20am when I reached I guess I smoked the whole way in around 10 mins Lovin' it!

Motul degreaser + chain lube costs ~Rs 900.
bro, i just completed 1000kms and my baby returned 45kpl during the run in period. is this likely to increase after 1st service or it'll remain the same? actually this fig. is more than i expected so im more than happy.
( it wasnt with a lot of ripping though )

      • @Vibhanshu: By ripping, HydBiker meant 120-130 speeds continuously for about an hour, stop,&then again the same!
P.S. Would you like anyone to 'ride' your girl? Then why do you allow your friends to ride your bike?

@bak5062: My bike's mileage went up from 38 to 43 after 1st Service. Still gives 43 in city, even in heavy traffic conditions. You can expect around 5km.more in highway, I got upto 48 under sedate cruising (80-90). Don't worry too much about mileage, its not a Splendor!

That speeds are difficult in city. But looking forward for a trip after 2nd service. Maybe then I would really 'rip' the bike.
PS: WTF We exchanged our bikes and smoked the roads. didnt we ?

We did buddy, RaviKiran&I rode each others bikes for almost 100kms. while coming back too. You need to be pretty confident that your babe is in safe hands! But, I would say-DO NOT handover your bike to anyone. Its different when you're around-! You know I have that bad experience with my Esteem!

Not that I give my bike to 'anyone'. When he came back I was more concerned about him being hurt rather than the bike. Luckily he was doing just 40 and he over did the front brakes. There was sand too on the road so he slipped on the left side. But he was hurt with scratches and still has back pain.

Anyhow, I do get your point just didnt like the way you presented it. Peace!

              • OKS chain lube + degreaser costs u Rs 650.

BTW, I used to get 43-45 before first service. That was purely because I was not riding at higher speeds. Even until second service... with riding at 110 + or - 10 KMPH steadily I used to get upto 42 kmpl. Now a days if I maintain a ton + or - 10 I get 41-42 KMPL and if I do steady full throttle for an hour or two I get 36-39 KMPL overall.

My last reading was for 1090 KMS and total fuel that went in was 27.87 liters = 39 KMPL.... includes one ride to Hampi & two mini long rides. Lot of riding at steady 110 KMPH, good amount of full throttle riding and some sedate riding around 100 MPH.

Yesterday's ride must gave given me about 36 KMPL... didn't check yet but an andaaz - it was full ripping session in return and while going it was 100-120 KMPH steadily.

                • i Have no idea on how much mileage i get
I use two tank fulls in 8 days... daily average ride of 150KMs in varying riding conditions....

BTW There is some kind of issue... when constantly on 5th gear there is a suden jerk in the accelaration and then the bike picks up speed! Almost like having an automatic trnasmission and the bike going to 6th cog!

It takes 2 & half hours for Pune Mumbai. How much time do you spend daily, travelling, considering Mumbai traffic?
                            And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

                            • Hard run in's

Hello Guys,I have always believed, with a certain amount of logical/scientific reasoning that Hard run'ins make sense.I have never baby'd any of my motorcycles during the initial so called "Break in" periods. With current modern engine building technologies,It only make sense to apply a fair amount of reason that traditional "break in " would not apply the same way to modern engines.
I have kept my engine stress free from day one,I never cold start my bike, make sure to warm engine completely before riding the bike, always vary revs freely throughout rev range (3k-7k revs mostly),also i never lug the bike in any gear.
so although i have done only 900kms,I went on a night ride from Banglore to Mysore,It is a beautiful Highway on most parts,I averaged 80 kmph and ocassionally touched 115 kmph (@ 8000 revs),i got an efficiency of 42 kmpl on a mileage of about 200kms,I believe that is quite decent.
There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!
