I am from Malaysia and I own a FZ150i or Vixion. I wonder if any of u guys can help me out as I want to convert the Vixion into a R15 or even the new FZ-S. If any of you know of a dealer that can ship the neccesary parts to Kuala Lumpur, then I would be very grateful. BTW, what's the price of a full fairing, meter and headlamp set for the R15?
thanks a lot guys

Welcome to xBhp.
Its true that R15 physical design is based on Vixion but I do not think that the parts can be readily fitted to it. There would be a lot of work involved to do so. Even in India there are guys who have fitted the R15 fairings to other premium bikes but only coz they had the bike in front of them and they could evaluate all the possibilities, which is not the case with you. Anyhow, I do not have the full list of the prices but I can tell you some atleast, maybe others here can help you more.
On the flip side, why dont you just call one of the dealers in India and ask for the full price list? Also you can ask them to send you the package and tell them that you'll bear all the charges.
Here is a number of a Yamaha dealer - Pearl Yamaha, Hyderabad, 040-32490099.
Mirror (LHS+RHS): Rs. 300
Front Cowl (that covers the headlight): Rs. 400
Rear body(LHS+RHS): Rs. 800
Headlamp: Rs 2000
Indicators: Rs 125 x 4
These are just "approximate prices". Most of the parts are in the same price range, so this must give you an idea. The prices are in Rupees so you can do the math.
Goodluck!
PS: There is a 'Modification' thread on xBhp. You should try posting your query there.Fear is the Trigger!

btw, when you say front cowl - do you mean the front fairings?
thanks
The fairings on the LHS and RHS are separate.Fear is the Trigger!

Guys, I had a crash. And painfully, my bike is scarred.
I was so mad at myself, that I did'nt touch my bike for an entire day. Neither did I come out of my room. I was taking a right turn at a T intersection, when a car came from my left. And I panic braked while the bike was slightly bent to the right. The front washed out. Even in that situation I tried to save my bike, but could not take my right leg off the footpeg in time.
Now mt RHS matt-finish panel has scratches, surprisingly the indicator was totally bent upwards parallel to the panel itself, but did'nt break. Now its got scratches on the underside. Mainly the front cowl that holds the headlights is cracked in two places (again on the underside) and the RHS mirror stalk is snapped. I got injuries to my knee. I tore through my jeans while trying to save my bike. Also my palm is injured. Nothing much. Just some skin.
Only real 'damage' is the handlebars appear and feel bent. The T-plate or whatever its called that has the clip-ons bolted on it looks truned to the RHS when the wheel's straight. Can it be straightened by removing the bolt in the middle? Or should I take it to the SVC?You get the point?? :D

Sorry to hear about the crash. Even during panic braking you should press both brakes at the same time. I have seen the front bending a lot in Pulsars coz they're very front heavy. Please take it to the SC&get the alignment checked. Rest of the cosmetic stuff can be replaced at a price. If needed, you can get the plate as well as clip-ons replaced too.Originally posted by svjhonda View PostGuys, I had a crash. And painfully, my bike is scarred.

Good to hear that you're not much hurt. In India we should always expect the unexpected while driving!
P.S. Today seems to be a bad day for R15s. I was nudged a bit on a signal by a car behind me, but the impact was too less for any damage. Wiped off the tyre marks on the silencer after telling the car driver not to drive if he cannot handle heavy traffic!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Sad to hear that you crashed. I had a crash myself and had same damages. Anyhow, do not worry about the fairings, those are just a matter of cash money. Handle bars are actually tough. But in case it has any bent then I think it can be adjusted, assuming that the bent is only at the joints and not the bar itself. And do not feel guilty

His bike does not have any vibrations in the handlebar. They are near the speedo. I tested it too!Originally posted by surbhit View Post@vibhanshu: your bike had excess vibrations in the handlebar while idling. Did you find a solution to the problem? I too am facing vibrations in the handlebar during idling.

haa! My bike is not a old timer. It has vibes near the speedo as Sarvajit said and not the handlebarOriginally posted by surbhit View Post@vibhanshu: your bike had excess vibrations in the handlebar while idling. . Last Sunday I visited Pearl SS and opened the whole front assembly (not the headlamps). The SS guy removed the stickers and applied the new ones. In case you dont know: The black part just between visor and the speedo has 6 small thick stickers on the edges. Those are given to absorb the vibrations. The vibes were gone. Within 2 days the vibes were back but ofcourse those are less now. Maybe next time I would apply 12 stickers.
EDIT: There are no vibes while idling. Only at higher range of RPM.Last edited by vibhanshu; 03-19-2009, 03:32 PM.Fear is the Trigger!

Only if it shakes your wheelOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostSo does that mean my bike will be counted as an old timer with chain noise?

BTW, you still have this problem. I thought you might have got it fixed. Try to get it fixed before the weekend ride. My past experience says that it eats performance. I hope thats not the case with you right now.Fear is the Trigger!

I have already got it fixed, but the sound still persists. No eating into performance, but smoothness has gone down a bit no doubt.Originally posted by vibhanshu View PostOnly if it shakes your wheel
