  • Guys, I seriously got sick of the silly and tiny punctures on my rear punctures. I already have 3 punctures done on it and there're more! :| (And no, I don't do any burnouts or brake hard on the rear until it skids)

They're really really tiny but are sufficient enough in number to get my bike's pressure from 35psi in the morning to 25psi in the evening

The only solution to this is to find a Gel that's used in tubeless tyres for clogging such tiny holes. Does anyone know where I can find one such at Hyderabad? Guys who frequent automobile shops in the city...Please help me!

    Examples:

Notubes Puncture Sealant - The Solution 16 oz | Bike Parts Place

Slime Puncture Sealant - Tubeless Slime | Bike Parts Place

Yeah, does not matter as long as the rider is sensible enough not to clog it with cloth or keep something that could be blocking the airflow!!

            hey mate

i've been using the 110/70 soft compound tyre in my Disco for 24k kmz now(from almost 2 years)

i 've seven punchers till now
n the problem is that the puncher strip inserted, doesn't stick to the tyre properly
n consequences in air leak, i've even tried nitrogen but it turn out to be worthless
so i've to get my air pressure checked every now n then

if u dont find the sealant, you can apt for getting your tyre tubed

Congrats for the bike which is due, and welcome for making the bad choice in terms of showroom. those bas***** will fry you up after selling the bike. Just check every single part is fine at the time of delivery. Also, refuse to take the bike if there are scratches. I had a bad exp. dealing with them so i no longer visit there.

                • Hi All,
Finally bought a R15 yesterday. But I had issues as soon as I started riding. Rear Brakes! They behaved bad. I thought that the bike came after a wash so maybe for a couple of kms it would be like that. But unfortunately it never got better. Today I went to the showroom (who also owns a service center) to get it fixed. He brought the bike back and said its fixed, well its better now but I am still not very convinced. Even at a speed of 40-50 I cannot rely on the rear brakes. It wasnt something I expected from Discs.

By looking at older posts I could see that other guys have already faced issues regarding rear brakes but after riding few hundred kms but Im having this issues since I started riding the bike. So I think it has nothing to do with pads as the bike is just 1 day old. Its my first bike actually so realy cannot figure out stuffs.

I know the brake issue is old on this forum but I am not sure if it is this serious. Thanks for any help!

                  • use the front brakes .. the rear is progressive but using only the rear will require assistance from the vehicle/wall/tree in front of you to stop. The front brakes do most of the braking. I have actually stopped using the rear for normal braking.

In emergency situations use both. In wet conditions balance the braking to avoid locking the front. If your rear disc is rubbing against the disc, well that requires you to read back a few pages.

                    • Thanks Archi
I would take the 2nd instead of the 1st advice.
Undoubtedly using both the brakes at once performs good. I was just curious whether the show rooms guys played something with the rear brakes or its just R15 meant to be like that. Anyhow I would get that checked again, I just cannot accept it , the drums perform better in other bikes. Thanks anyways.

                      • The brakes in the R15 are the most reliable man.Try to get used to the sensitivity of the brakes and you'll be in totall control ^^
                        Grats on the R15.

I bet you wouldnt say that if you were riding my bike. The rear brakes are awful (for now). Which is the best service station at Hyderabad ? Anyone knows?
I bought my bike from Venkatesha Motors, Raj bhavan Rd.
