Great! Searching in 220 PagesOriginally posted by R15Rocks View Post@Vibhanshu: It is only due to riding in water. Thats one reason why I avoid riding in the rain-no patience to lubricate the chain etc.after every ride. One cleaning/lubrication spray&its all gone. Don't be skeptical about the bike man-its just a week old! I still maintain its an excellent bike which does hold composure at very high speeds-no drama, no vibrations, excellent handling&high speed stability&braking, but does show some signs of weakness when subjected to extended heavy throttle usage. You'll understand as time passes.
Actually I've heard so bad about the SS guys that I ride my bike very carefully so that I dont need to take my bike to SS. And till that time at least I learn to do basic stuffs. Truly speaking its just a matter of time that the SS guys will experiment on R15s and finally they'll be expert. And till that time many R15 owners have to suffer.Last edited by vibhanshu; 01-08-2009, 02:39 PM.Fear is the Trigger!

Chain lubing&cleaning
Do you have the racing stand accessory? If not, it would be tough to do it as it is not possible to lift the rear wheel off the ground without using a centerstand (temporary ones which the SS guys use). If you have that, it is pretty simple: Buy a chain cleaner spray from a Spare Parts shop, then keep turning the rear wheel&spraying the cleaner. You can feel the difference rightaway! Alternatively, you can visit the SS to get it done. They shouldn't charge you too much for it.Originally posted by vibhanshu View PostGreat! How do you lubricate the chain.

The main stand for R15 (other than the racing one) is now available. I think it was a part of all the accessories that Yamaha were offering for the R15. I have seen the SS guys fix one on an R15 when I last visited the Pro Service center at Wakdewadi, Pune.Originally posted by R15Rocks View PostDo you have the racing stand accessory? We only get the Yamaha official racing stand-paddock type (red in color), removable here at Hyderabad. I heard about some SS in Bangalore welding&fitting a permanent centerstand on too. Are you talking of that kind of a fitment? The one that the SS guys use here is a removable one to be used only during servicing.Originally posted by SAGARR_46 View PostThe main stand for R15 (other than the racing one) is now available. No I am talking about the removable one. The one I saw was the recently launched original centre stand of the R15 which does not require any welding. I guess its fitting is pretty much like the side stand of the bike. And I think it costs around 400Rs but let me crosscheck that and get back to you guys.Originally posted by R15Rocks View PostWe only get the Yamaha official racing stand-paddock type (red in color), removable here at Hyderabad. Hi,this is my first post on this forum though have been trawling since this thread began.Got my R15 as one of the first delivered by JW WILLIAMS PUNE on 10 jul, have done 6000km with several bom-pune runs.Mileage 43kmpl,servicing by sandip at Dhole patil road ,J Williams is average.
Query-last 2 months the bike makes a high pitched whirring(wheeeeee) sound from below the seat lasting 5-10 seconds,ss guys said its due to air bieng sucked into the petrol tank!!
now the sound is noted several times on each ride, even with the engine and ignition of!
seems like the fuel pump but not sure, any sugggestions?
have been using scramster turtle bag, saddle bags and ATGATT.

Thanks Sagar. I went through the accessories brochure, but it only mentions the red color racing stand accessory. If this is true&requires no welding, I'll ask someone to get it from Pune for me. Waiting for your info.Originally posted by SAGARR_46 View PostNo I am talking about the removable one. I got a similar explanation from the SS guys when I inquired about this sound. I was told that the sound was a result of air being stuck in the petrol tank because of the FI. I don't really know how that works but the solution he offered has solved the problem. The SS guy asked me to open the tank lid when I hear the sound to let the trapped air escape and as i said it does work.Originally posted by singhisking View PostHi,this is my first post on this forum though have been trawling since this thread began.Got my R15 as one of the first delivered by JW WILLIAMS PUNE on 10 jul, have done 6000km with several bom-pune runs.Mileage 43kmpl,servicing by sandip at Dhole patil road ,J Williams is average.
