  • Thanks digislayer!
I am planning to ship the bike to lucknow from mumbai nxt week since i will be there for 45 days on duty, chkd out that it costs 325 to pack up the bike,1300 frieght charges by pushpak express plus 1 % of the cost of the bike as insurance depending on the declared value. If its 1L that makes it another grand,a total of aprox 2700.
Wonder if its worth it or to borrow a 2 wheeler in LKO?
Any one has any experience in shipping an R15 by train?what has to be detached from the bike,RVMs,Indicators....
Last time I took my bike(a RD 350)to LKO was 20yrs ago!!!
    All inputs welcome

I am not sure whether borrowing will be cheap or not. But if you want to send your bike by train then just keep one thing in mind. Make sure you park your R15 in the corner of the bogie. This is coz the train stops at various stations and there is a lot of load or unloading. And at that time if your bike is parked near the door then they might take it out to put other stuffs in it. And sometimes they forget to put it back in. This has happened with one my friends. Also make sure that your bike is covered properly with a thick cloth. Specially those area which are prone to scratches. Other than these there is no problem in sending the bike by train. Goodluck!

If not ridden for 3-4 days also , the pressure drops down considerably , 3-7 psi.
This Was not the case with pulsar.

Plus when i tour say on a 5 day trip , the air loss is almost nil, say 1-2 psi.
        U guys experienced this ?

Air loss is normal , agreed , But to this much , im surprised .

        Santa
common on smaller tubeless tyres... wouldn't happen so much on larger car tyres but bike tyres show it up. don't worry... keep filling!

I am nt sure abt wats the solution they are using.
So can I go ahead for it? Also can they tune r15 horns?
Buy yourself a set of OKS chain lube & de-greaser (pls find my post somewhere in this thread!), get it done urself.

I guess its fitting is pretty much like the side stand of the bike. And I think it costs around 400Rs but let me crosscheck that and get back to you guys.

        DigiSlayer is correct.

@all: The center stand that you guys are talking about is an equipment meant for aiding servicing of R15. It's for the SS guys, they can order it from Yamaha. It's just a temporary one,not a permanent(maybe it can be fitted permanently, but that'd shorten ground clearance and may touch speed breakers, etc). It can be attached and detached easily by the SS guys by pushing a bolt through the hole.

That really Sucks! Over 6 months of release of the bike and the mechanics still need more time to understand the bike.

Stay away from Bangalore Wheels. The mechanics don't know a thing except to change parts if they encounter any problem. About Perfect Riders, I don't have any info as they have just opened last month. So, they might be better for the time being as they would be more enthusiastic to lure new customers. You could look at Pacer Yamaha as they run a motorsport team too. Their mechanics are well versed in servicing the R15. That is what I've heard from people around here. Whatever it is, please stay away from Bangalore wheels.

To add on above persons quote, VinFreak, also stay away from Mayhem that the Orion guys deliver. there are several cases in our city wherein we find people giving the bike to Orion for servicing and returning back having head to toe argument, not only that heard and seen many incidents where they use some local oil to lube chain etc. etc and etc., and to add on... their rude and unproffessional behavior after seeling the bike

2 weeks before i met 3 R15 owners at panache who were not happy with their servicing, by the way even Panache is not great a place to get the bike serviced. They serviced my bike in 30 minutes can any one beat that here!!! its a record!

                • All in all, the Yamaha A.S.Ss suck big time. This was one big factor which made me reconsider and finally abort my decision of buying the awesome R15 even after being a huge Yammie fan. IMHO, it would be prudent for people to stay away from Yamaha till the servicing scene improves. BTW, if Yamaha introduce the company owned dealerships in Bangalore like they have in Pune and Mumbai, the R15 owners may have some respite. Sadly, the R15 is a very good motorcycle let down by poor service back-up. Have any of the R15 owners here tried writing to the company about this serious issue?

Sadly I searched online and could not find a proper customer care mail ID like BAJAJ has. Can anyone share it? I am very prepared to send them a decent mail and if there is no response a harsh one even!

@VinFreak: Though I'm from Hyderabad, my cousin from Bengaluru tells me that Panache is hopeless. Archi will second me on this I think!Somebody else has already advised you against Orion. Now, I had been to Perfect Riders to buy some accessories when I was in Bengaluru a few weeks back. I had a look at their servicing facilities&tried to gauge their customer attitude. It seemed pretty good. I will also be preferring the same place in case I move to Bengaluru.

@Aparajith: What about the service manual? Does it have any email address in it?
