      • Hi

Hi I m new to xbhp and this is my first post.....

I recently purchased the R15 in racing black colors.... got my bike on valentines day (coincidence )

I have done 3000 kms so sar... just before my second service I noticed an abnormal noise from the bike's rear... Assumed it is from the shocks or swing-arm or something....

When I mentioned it to the service centre guys, they said dont worry, its just the lower end of the saree guard touching the swing arm.... and they just warped the saree guard a bit, and now the noise is gone

sometimes the problem is so stupid....

          • Booked a R15

            hi Friends
Yesterday I booked a Blue R15 at PSN Agencies, Kochi.
the customer relations manager was a nice man and he explained and gave me details about everything I asked.
at present there is stock of only Yellow and Red colours and the next lot will arrive on May 30th. Hoping to get delivery in the First week of June.

The Monsoons will be at its full swing in the month of June so wont be able to take the Bike out much. so I'm worried about its servicing i.e. completing the required kms before the first servicing and run in

Prakritij congrats on the purchase of one of the best bike in our country. About the servicing always remember there are 2 options for servicing - First - Number of kms ;Second - Number of days.

for your servicing whatever comes first no. of kms or no. of days u can get your servicing done bro. All the Best

what do you need the saree guard for? I got it removed cos my mom aint here with me and if any other female sits with me then she has to sit cross legged ..without the saree guard the bike looks much better.

Guys I just came back from a bangalore-delhi trip so thought of updating the forum with stuff regarding the bike:

This is especially for guys in bangalore:

                1. I am super impressed with bangalore wheels, rajajinagar. Before leaving I made her go through a paid service, (though my bike is in the free service period). All through the way, she didnt give me any probs..touchwood..smooth as silk. Trust me guys, yamaha has given us a gem. All she needs is proper service at proper intervals.

                2. There was just one niggle and they were the tyres. That too because there was already a puncture. I had repaired it a couple of times before so the sticky solution would come out every 3-4 hours depending on the heat during the travel. The patch between ahmedabad and jaipur was the culprit because it was super hot there and because of that my tyre was always on low pressure.

So make sure, whenever you go in for a long trek (escpecially if the route is gonna be real heat) better to go in for new tyres or atleast there shouldn't be any puncture.

                3. The route should be real smooth cos this bike is for smooth roads. Rape her..errrmm Rip her.. to any extent on these roads..she doesn't say a word.

                4. SG 15W-50 Yamalube was used. The engine was super smooth even when I landed in Delhi.

                5. My aim was to do the Saddlesore 1610 and himmatnagar (ahmedabad) was the target. Sadly I couldn't do that (missed himmatnagar by half an hour). Anyways, what I wanna stress is the fact that I drove her continuously above 90 kmph for 1550 kms and at the end she behaved as though it was just a couple of kms she had travelled.

                6. The seating position makes you feel as though its gonna be real tiring, but strangely the only body parts paining were my knee caps and nothing else. I was feeling fresh even after that long journey.

get the servicing done at time and make sure you don't put much stress on the engine during the 1st 3k kms, especially don't downshift. That's what I have done and she is behaving like an angel.

even for later on..i think downshifting should be kept to the minimum

Thank you but will there be enough torque available in low rpms to ride on hills? my place is somewhere in the western ghats

Hi -- Since R15 doesn't produce much torque in low rpms it wont be a very comfortable experience riding it in the western ghat area during the run-in period. It might be difficult especially with a pillion not to cross the recommended rpm if u have to ride through winding hilly roads on a daily basis. However, its not impossible and is achievable with good amount of patience. Go for few long runs in non-ghat roads and try to reach the 1000kms limit early, after that you will thoroughly enjoy riding it in the western ghats

Congrats man. I remember you had posted something about admiring the bike, sitting on it...

Its yours now! I'd say stick to the recommended run-in, first 500kms, take it real easy, let others overtake you.

next 500kms rev her freely only till 7.5k rpm, use varying throttle inputs.

Change oil & filter at 1K kms and you're all set to go!
                            You get the point?? :D
