I know thats still a long way to go so I ignore the sound.

I faced this problem many times. My bike has done only 11k and whenever i take to SVC it doesnt occur. So i dont know what to do????

    • Hii fellow R15ers, i am posting on Xbhp after a long time. I have a few queries

      Details about my R15-
Acquired May 2009,Colour- Blazing RED, Kms done 11363

I used it insanely for about 8 months till this January. I loved its performance, it was great. Did the 4th service at 9300kms, changed oil filter and rear brake pads. After that, the bike was giving me all headaches it's performance was decreased a lot. It was struggling to do even 105 in doubles !! Then i had 3 punctures in the rear tyre. From then on, i had to daily check the air pressure. Its handling had gone for a toss. Once while taking a turn, the rear tire slipped and the bike skidded( i can't believe it still now). Also, the front handle behaves oddly, it feels very loose and i was afraid of cornering. To add to all this, there was change of dealership in my place and so there was no SVC available for 1 month.
So frustrated, i left my baby in my home unused for the past 3 months!!!

Now i am planning to resurrect my bike again after a long time
      1) I have 2 more free service coupons left but the vadility of 1 year is getting over. Can i use them?
      2) I have to change my rear tyre. The stock is not available here. Which is the best alternative option?
      3) The handle is behaving oddly whenever i take a turn. What might me the problem, with the forks??
      4) As someone mentioned, there is the rattling sound when bike is in neutral and idling. If press the clutch, then its decreased. What might be the problem, with clutch bell?
      5) Sometimes the bike's ignition cuts off automatically when its in motion. Again i toggle with engine kill switch and then only it starts. Is this a problem with battery?
      6) What might happen, if i leave the bike unused for such long period of time??

Please hope that u answer my queries !!

Each coupon has a maximum limit of days or kms., whichever is earlier. Please check that. If either of the two has expired, they accept the coupon by charging Rs.150 as service cost, as opposed to the regular Rs.300+

        2) I have to change my rear tyre. The stock is not available here. Which is the best alternative option?
I would say get the stock rear from somewhere else. There will be nothing as good as it. Else someone has discussed about a button type tyre IIRC Ceat Secura in the same stock spec. But that is a buttoned type&not even soft compound, so you cannot expect the same performance from the vehicle after fitting that.

        3) The handle is behaving oddly whenever i take a turn. What might me the problem, with the forks??
If your bike has had a fall, this is common. Get the clipons checked, alongwith the forks (through if necessary), and finally T stem. Check gap from tank on both sides, leave handle while riding to see which side it drifts etc.before taking to a mech.

        4) As someone mentioned, there is the rattling sound when bike is in neutral and idling. If press the clutch, then its decreased. What might be the problem, with clutch bell?
Its a common problem with the clutch bell/housing on the R15. No permanent solution as of now. Better take it easy&rethink when you are due for clutchplate replacement.

        5) Sometimes the bike's ignition cuts off automatically when its in motion. Again i toggle with engine kill switch and then only it starts. Is this a problem with battery?
Seems to be a loose contact with the engine kill switch. Common case again-get the switch opened up&the wires ground a bit. This helped in my older bike&the problem has not recurred since 3 years.

        6) What might happen, if i leave the bike unused for such long period of time??
I don't see any problem other than the battery discharging. If you have started the bike's engine atleast once a month, you don't need to worry about this. Remember this is an MF type battery which gets charged in running. To be on the safe side, get the battery charged overnight before resuming regular usage.

You have a very good bike with only minor niggles which can be easily sorted out. Get her back to her original glory&ride on!

Thanks a lot bro !! Well, regarding tyres do u have any idea if the stock rear is available in Hyderabad. I am planning to come there in the 1st week of May.
I am not saying about the buttoned type of tires. I was referring to P200's or FZ's tyre. I know they downgrade the perfomance a lot, but in the worst scenario I guess i should be doing that !!!

And one more thing i forgot to ask. Sometimes, when the bike is ridden at constant speed( around 20 to 30 in the 3rd gear), it feels like its running out of petrol. Is there any problem with fuel pump or is it also common??

Once again, looking forward to those great days which i had with my babe !!!!!!

no bro after applying chain cleaner just wipe the chain with a clean cloth just to remove the dirt and then apply the lube.

when the strech is empty, my bike tells me to wring its throttle and give my commands!

Honestly , i wouldn't know if they are replacable or not, however they are readily available...atleast in Delhi i didnt have a problem getting them when i had to replace the whole gear set(along with footpeg).
