On my way back from office I realised that the rear tyre had again lost airOriginally posted by neil.jericho View PostDone 13k kms. My rear tire has been a major headache for me over the last couple of months. There are punctures in 4 places including 2 very close to each other. Had got patches done on two punctures and over the last 2 days both these patches have come off which meant Ive had to go back to the plug and fix method. The guys at both the tyre shops told me that its time to change the tyre. Will probably change it at 15 k but its time to go tyre hunting starting this weekend.
Can anyone in bangalore tell me which shop they have bought their rear tyre from ?
. Managed to limp it back home. Will probably add a tube to it tomorrow as a stop gap measure till I can get my hands on a new rear tyre. Just checking - if I put a tube now can I go back to tubeless later ?

Hydbiker is right. Had a couple of small falls. The light blinks for a bit & the bike starts after that.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post^ the engine malfunction light comes up when the bikes falls. A reset is enough. If the light glows after the reset too, you have to get it checked.

okay..great..!!
so i don't have to run it by SVC i guess..!!
And ever since the accident..i can hear the chain making some kind of noise..!
Is there a chance that the chain might have become loose..??Live To Ride, Ride To Live

the engine malfunction light is basically the lean angle sensor working. If it detects too much a lean of the bike, like in the case of the bike falling over, it switches the engine off.

@Bangy guys: Did you guys notice any change in the bike's response tonight? I mean to say when I rode the bike at night, the weather being cold and all, I felt the bike's response was brilliant and even the pick up was amazing.
I know air temp makes a hug difference in engine performance and that cold air can charge the mixture more but
@joel:what air temp and % humidity is appropriate for best engine performance?
P.S Had a blast on the empty night roads!!!

Just ride it for some 30-40 km and the brakes would be back to normal.Originally posted by humanoutlaw View Postpicked up bike now a hour back, bike seems not to be stopping when i apply the rear brake i know its progressive brakes but still its either in my head tht its not working or its really not working....but it was hot when i checked after i reached home.
so whose the lucky guy getting the Blue 2010 r1 from orion saw the package had a big grin on my face to see it.
These SVC people unknowingly spill some polish in areas near to disc at times so that hampers the braking. Ride it for a while and the braking would be back to normal. My thoughts...

Hey all R15ers, whats the best riding way when facing high cross winds apart from slowing down?

There is no safer way than slowing down other wise u'll be draged away from the road or may loose your balance.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostHey all R15ers, whats the best riding way when facing high cross winds apart from slowing down?
Everyday I face the same problem while going back from office thru NH8 Specially in morning hrs

This is no torquey beast. Nor does it have a wide foot-print. Can't do anything but trying to ride carefully in cross-winds. In headwinds, if you can, duck in behind the visor. And, that only saves your head from pushing back. Can't possibly reduce the drag much. Tried it without great results.Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostHey all R15ers, whats the best riding way when facing high cross winds apart from slowing down?
Safety settings done for you at the serviceOriginally posted by jatin almighty r15 View Posthi alll
I just got my 3000 kms old ( 2nd ) Yamaha R15 serviced and after service I can only attain a speed of 125-130 kmph whereas before service it was above 140 k
can anybody help me out what could be the possible reason for the same
Please check the chain. Did they over-tighten it?
Check for correct air pressure.
Apart from the top speed, do you find any other differences with your R15 post the service?
What else could they have done???
May be you should try again. So many parameters can effect your top speed. I wouldn't recommend you to do the speed runs just for the sake of checking the top speed.Last edited by HydBiker; 04-23-2010, 01:09 PM.

jatin & HydBiker: Thanks man. I also could not find anything else thats why thought of putting it up here. headwind can be compromised a bit by ducking properly but crosswind are pain at times.
