        • ^^ could be a faulty kill switch.. they have been known to fail on some bikes ( three that i know of the dealer in fbd replaced ).

@Jiten - interesting find, but i must say the prices charged are quite quite high.

Oill filter is Rs. 430; Yamalube Mineral Oil is Rs. 185\

            EDIT
Guys, how about adding an R15 spare part (including engine oil, coolant etc) pricelist on the first page. Would serve as a ready reckoner for all seeking this information?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Dude you have definitely spent more than Rs 120 on a coolant altogether in the last 2 years, If you havent you should.

Jiten, I say you go for the mod. It will be a very good learning curve. Do it till its done right and you will also end up with an R15 thats just pure orgasmic to ride, even on the streets.

Have you thought of the tyres that you will need to put that kind of power onto the road ? If that gets sorted out you most definitely should go for the mod.

Those guys are claiming 32.94Nm torque. That is a lot of it making me a little suscpicious.

Yeah bit expensive, but kind of test always need pay extra.

I feel also same with bit caution; the test had taken with 178 CC cylinder + Big valve head + Keihin PWK 28 carb + Cheetah Power Programmable CDI + Stock Sprocket Size 15 - 39, stock Gear Ratio + Open pipe (with any exhaust barrier) and may be some more.

It will great help if you share your view/concern/knowledge on that.

There was one thing that practically ruined my whole day though : when the mechanic opened the air filter for cleaning, he found engine oil in the trayish kinda container below it. the air filter was also covered in oil. Since the air filter is of dry type, I had to change the filter. But the question that kept on coming in my mind was what the f happened that caused engine oil to go to the air filter. The mechanic looked for any cracks/cuts in the pipes of the bike but did not find any cuts. He took a 10 km test ride of the bike after replacing the air filter and when he came back, the new filter was as dry as my mouth after running for 3 km continously :P. Anybody got any ideas as to what could have caused the oil to go into the air filter??

Also, mineral oil wasn't available in stock so had to put semi-synthetic oil worth Rs415 in her. Any problems that could crop up if semi synthetic oil is used after only 1000kms??

                  Things done in the service:
                  1. Oil filter changed Rs430
                  2. Oil changed to semi synthetic Rs415
                  3. Air filter changed Rs240
                  4. Coolant topped up Rs120
                  5. Chain lubricated Rs120

Total cost of first service : Rs 1325........and they say that first 6 services are free :P
i have also noticed small bits oil in my air box. i though it was natural and did not give it much importance.

                  • ^^ i have to check if there is a breather hose going into the airbox.... thats the only plausible explanation at the moment because it used to happen in my bullet, whenever the engine oil level would be high, the oil would overflow thru the breather and enter the filter box.

                    • @Ten Hut ,
I meant to say was , you do not need to Get ur coolant topped up from th SS.They top up 50 ml and charge 120 bucks .I get a half litre can in that place.

I do it myself every two weeks . No issues in 32k kms .

Half litre can of coolant + water lasts a good whole year .
If u are happy paying 120 every service for coolant and not check before the next interval , Its ur call..

If they used MotoCool then you don't need to bother-it is premixed, the others you need to mix water.

bungees are good.keep a cloth to prevent scratches.
saddle bags are better too.just put something between the surface paint & the bag.
I stopped doing that because a year down the line I frankly donot care for minor scratches that much
