i agree with parthOriginally posted by HotAntivirus View PostHey guys, My bike is just 5 months old and I've clocked 2500 on odo. Strangely my pick up has decreased alot.. I'll take this issue to SVC when my service is due.. Can you guys help me with what might be the issue?
you need more frequent service to the air filter when you drive in a wet/dusty area
clean the air filter to get quick throttle responseyEs yAmAhA!

same was with mine till recently...but now, when cold it goes to 2kOriginally posted by zerotosixty View PostYes, the behavior which you mentioned is normal.. Cold engine idles around 1.5K rpms for me. And once the engine has warmed up considerably it idles around 1.2K
then back to around 1.6/1.5k....?
what could it be?and does it imply that the ecu can control the throttle too???
and what about that lag i feel when i accelerate ?Last edited by veyron999; 09-30-2010, 11:54 PM.after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

Such vibrations on major parts of the bike could indicate very loose engine mount bolts. This is causing the engines unconstrained motions to be transmitted all across the bike. On a well serviced and properly maintained R15, such vibrations are unheard of. Please get all the engine mount bolts tightened. If you want, you can do it yourself. There is a thread in the DIY sectionOriginally posted by pranjalshukla View Post
i have got vibrations on the tank, handlebars, footpegs
since after the crash
guys!
any help to this fellow?
Another theory is that some link inside the bike, on the chassis is broken
This could cause serious vibrations too.... Anyway, get your bike checked once..
I think your idle RPM tuning is a little offOriginally posted by veyron999 View Postsame was with mine till recently...but now, when cold it goes to 2k

No worries, you can re-tune it back to factory settings yourself with just a screw driver. The exact procedure is mentioned in the DIY section
Look it up.
Here's the link: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...-idle-rpm.html
The LAG you experience when you suddenly open the throttle could be because of insufficient air going into the engine, because of which, it is unable to breathe properly. Definitely an air filter issue..Last edited by ZeNashB; 10-01-2010, 12:21 AM.D'oh!

Guys... i think it is a common thing with FI.. Do not rev when starting the engine. this applies to MPFI cars also.. check it out in s MPFI car, when we start the engine, we can see the engine raised a bit initially and comes back to normal. I think it is like the auto choke function in carb bikes to optimize start in cold condition..Originally posted by veyron999 View Postsame was with mine till recently...but now, when cold it goes to 2k

Here is something... Actually my bike's exhaust sprays water from a hole underneath the silencer for a while when started in cold condition. Just like in the petrol cars.. it happens to the car because of the optimized tuning.. i don't understand how does it happens in a bike.. ??? Even the service center ppl too don't know about it..If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

It does happen with FI, but the R15 idling should not go to 2k RPM, even when cold. All bikes idle at 1.6k when cold and settle at around 1.3k during a normal run. 2k is a little high and will be wasting fuel.Originally posted by ezy_rider View PostGuys... i think it is a common thing with FI.. Water dropping from the hole under the silencer is a new thing. Never knew that happens. Not happened to my bike...

Just check it when you start your bike at morning. I think you've never noticed before.. there is a small hole for water which get in to muffler. Start the bike and keep your had below the hole. I've seen that in 2 more R15's near me.Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostIt does happen with FI, but the R15 idling should not go to 2k RPM, even when cold. We can see this in petrol cars too.
Water is byproduct of petrol combustion. Petrol contains hydrogen and it combines with the oxygen while combustion and it comes through exhaust when the silencer is not hot. It do happen always, but when the silencer get hot water is evaporated, That is all
If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

i am not quite sure about calling it a fully indian bikeThanks @pranjalshukla and @neoakshay.Originally posted by neoakshay View PostEngine oil for ur chain is just a temporary measure and the O-rings would be affected eventually.. Refrain from using it. It would also attract a lot of dirt on ur chain. And ur guy's 'coconut oil' idea sounds just brilliant!
Must be an ace mech that Yamaha must steal away for their SVC!
Chain lube and cleaner should be available at any SVC in ur town buddy, check em out!
Most of the bike is manufactured/assembled in India. Just a few components are still being imported.
I already searched for the Chain lube and the Cleaner, but didn't get here. I'll try to get them from your country if someone go there and temporary basis I should use diesel/kerosene and the gear oil for the chain.Adnan

You could go for Keiti tank pads. Real good quality and plenty of designs. I have it on my bike. Check it out a few pages back in this threadOriginally posted by dileep.anirudh View PostHey guys suggest me a good tank pad for my black R15. I can't tell you what to go for, but I can tell you to stay the hell away from thos 150rs local tank pads. I was in the exact same position as you are in, couldn't get the YAMAHA tank pad from the A.S.S. and i was getting my no. plates done up and saw these cool looking tank pads for just 150rs. Got one and 5 months later the white has changed to yellowish and the whole tankpad looks badOriginally posted by dileep.anirudh View PostHey guys suggest me a good tank pad for my black R15. Some of our fellow r15ers have tried keiti tank pads, so you can give them a try
Good luck and dont forget to post pics when you get the tank pads installed.
