no!Originally posted by adnansanni View PostAny comments guys?
you will end up with damaging your sprockets too
engine oil is strictly NO
use diesel to clean the chain
and gear oil to lubricate
gear oil is ok with O type chains

earlier engines were made in indonesia
i am not quite sure about calling it a fully indian bikeLast edited by pranjalshukla; 09-30-2010, 02:25 AM.yEs yAmAhA!

im glad ur safe buddy! Ride safe..Originally posted by saikrishna050691 View Posthey guys
im running through some tough times with my baby...
today morning i had a crash witha a bus....crash, not a fall...thank rgod nothing happened to me, not even a small bruise...it all happened due to a couple of guys on foot...
.its a long story
the thing is my bike's right side got completely damaged...the right panel whish has the R15 graphic on, indicator completely displaced and the exhaust damaged...luckily got it replaced today itself
had to search a lot for the spares specially the STAY PROTECTOR which is directly below the exhaust cap....got it after searching it in 3 show rooms in hyderabad....the thing is the stupid mechanics in the SVC's here dont really know which spare parts would be even manufactured...for a small part which costed me 170 bucks, he asked me to change the entire exhaust
...
guys if there are any one who have spare part woes in hyderabad, just go to SRI SRINIVASA AUTOMOBILES in ranigunj...they seem to have all the spares..almost....
Guys, i've noticed a funny thing.. Most people who've crashed or dropped their bikes seem to be damaging only the right side! Including me!

Engine oil for ur chain is just a temporary measure and the O-rings would be affected eventually.. Refrain from using it. It would also attract a lot of dirt on ur chain. And ur guy's 'coconut oil' idea sounds just brilliant!Originally posted by adnansanni View PostAny comments guys?
Must be an ace mech that Yamaha must steal away for their SVC!
Chain lube and cleaner should be available at any SVC in ur town buddy, check em out!
Most of the bike is manufactured/assembled in India. Just a few components are still being imported.A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!

guys one more issue i'm facing...after the bike started misfiring occasionally, the engineer who had come from pune told the mech to clean the injectors and the spark plug. though the mech said that there was no need to clean the injectors as the bike was new, to which i agreed. he cleaned the spark plug. he had opened th tank unit too. but two days past from then, now although i still experience a "lag" in the engine power delivery when i accelerate suddenly from low rpms (around 2-3k) its just like it happens in carb engines. what could be the reason??
i also noticed in the morning since two days that when i start the bike in the morning (engine cold) the rpms were higher than normal - 2k which gradually decreased when i took it for a short trip.
is this a normal phenomenon when the engine is cold? though the temperatures have decreased outside but not that drastically..and this didnt happen before..... please throw some light on this..after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

guys...
some time before i ve mentioned about the smoke coming out of the exhaust, that was after my service..... but i was told by someone here that it might be bcos of the water that might have gone into the exhaust.....
but now every mrng i see the smoke coming out of the exhaust...it might be for a split second, not a continuous thing...i see it for the first start of the bike in a day....is this normal??

If you're noticing it regularly, even for short periods, it could indicate incomplete combustion in the engine. Since your bike is new, that souldn't be happening, especially with FIs.... get it checked once. Describe the issue to the mech properly till he understands. Dont settle for ''It happens''.... because it doesn't happen with my bike. Dont know about other owners.Originally posted by saikrishna050691 View Postguys...

or wait, does it happen with everyone and mine is the only faulty bike?

+1
generally, it happens due to incomplete combustion
r15 is a fuel injected bike
it should not happen
when you get smoke from the exhaust, you tune the carb.
since, fuel injection tunes itself, it should not happen
your machine is new, cant say anything more
it is under warranty
use your power and get it checked soon
check your valves if you get engine noiseLast edited by pranjalshukla; 09-30-2010, 04:37 PM.yEs yAmAhA!

Yes, the behavior which you mentioned is normal.. Cold engine idles around 1.5K rpms for me. And once the engine has warmed up considerably it idles around 1.2KOriginally posted by pranjalshukla View Postyes..my idle rpm is 1,300

Hey guys, My bike is just 5 months old and I've clocked 2500 on odo. Strangely my pick up has decreased alot.. I'll take this issue to SVC when my service is due.. Can you guys help me with what might be the issue?Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.
