  • about the sound that "khit-khit" sound from under the seat when you go on potholes that i was talking about in recent posts - that sound seems to be coming more regularly now, first it came rarely, now it also comes when the bike takes a slight jerk when i change gears at a low rpm with a pillion(mom)..
i asked the svc guy about this, he seemed to be clueless at first, then i told him what i read on a post by someone - that it maybe coming from the bushes from the rear mono. but he was too lethargic to jump into any action, instead he said to bring it up when i gave the bike for the next servicin, which is a 1000kms away... at first i thought of ignoring it. but then as the sound seems to be coming more frequently, i plan to go to the svc once more tomorrow..what should i do??need suggestions badly..
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

could this really be the reason?? did you try greasing it again??did it work?

The main stand is economic too. Price is 546 and shaft is 56.. Ok?
Get a RX100 main stand and pin. costs hardly ~200-250rs! fits perfectly!

There couldn't be gnome playing a trumpet inside the engine, could there?
P.S: Many times, when I was with my gf, she thought I farted!
The sound you talking about is like "puuuuuu...". It does anytime even without key. As I remember its the sound from tank as I told before.

Thanks for the info brothers. Whatever it is, its normal then. So nothing to worry about it, right?

            • @ZeNashB: Good decision. Btw, don't forget-these are soft compound tyres-they will not grip very well till heated up a bit, similar to the larger capacity bikes' tyres. Read Ken's thread on how his brand new R1 reacted on a small wet patch-same RPM shooting up, wheel spinning etc. but multiplied manifold compared to what happened to you!

@pranjalshukla, Parth: We discussed about this in the early days of the thread. Yamaha decided to do away with the tyre hugger that they displayed at the Auto Expo&installed the flap instead.
I am also seriously considering installing either the Stunner or the XCD125's hugger, as my warranty period is over I have no qualms about drilling an extra hole or two.

Yeah, it is permanent. The RX stand is temporary.

+1 to that. It happened with me-some curious person tipped my bike over&I lost one footpeg, clutch lever accessory&almost lost one LED indicator. I sold off my paddock stand later. The mainstand is way better-helps me to park in parallel parking, doesn't reduce the ground clearance&best part is it saves the monoshock link during offroading since it takes the beating. I have hit it many a time offroading, once I lost the pin, but nothing else was damaged.

Dude, you mean the R15 main stand sold as an accessory is a permanent attachment? aaah, but the RX100's stand isn't, right? The SVC is selling the paddock stand at Rs1500... what if there's a wall in front of the bike, touching the front wheel? It(paddock stand) wont tip then, right?

If you need a temporary stand to do repair works go and buy an Rx 100 stand. It is a direct fit. You can fix it within 5 seconds and after the works you can detach it and keep it in your home. It costed me Rs 150 for the stand and Rs 30 for the shaft.

                    • Thank you guys. With your advices, I bought the RX100 center stand. Yes, I only need the stand for repairs, washing and chain cleaning/lubrication. The stand costed me 190 and the pin was 30 bucks. Genuine Yamaha RX100 parts.. I tried it on the bike and it was very easy :P I never noticed the two holes provided to fit the stand. I'm planning to buy the spring and try the thing on as a permanent fixture for a few days... if it isn't affecting my riding and is helpful, might as well keep it.

I took some pics for future members who might have the same doubt

Road looks Great! , As Sarvajit said, wait for tires to warm up. But, still wait the Clouds to clear. It should be anytime now! It'll be just safer!

And Yes, Just want to share. Most of you would have tried it out..
Put in the Motul 300V 15W50 FS. The Gearbox is just simply Smooth!
That's the only difference I personally found. Engine is smooth too, but I do feel it's psychological :P
I used to use the Motul 5100 SS 15W50 all this while. No Complaints with that too.
Btw, is it a fact that once I a FS oil is used, it's advised not to pour in SS next time?
Anyone tried out the Motul 300V FS 10W40?

I'm at 4.5k, when do you think I should go for a fully synth oil? Still running on the Yamalube.. Which is the best oil to go in for now? Apart from Motul, there are some other new players too, like AGIP, Petronas, Formula1 etc

Wait for 6000kms, is my personal opinion. You're on Yamalube Semi-Synth or Mineral?
I have only tried Yamalube Semi Synth, Motul 5100 SS 15W50 and Motul 300V 15W50 now.
I recommend Motul. Motul, would be a tad expensive when compared to other oils available on the Shelf, but hey good things come at a cost.
Gradually shift to 300V Motul FS is what I would suggest!
I changed at 11,000Km to Motul FS. Did a change again now at 16k Kms. (The Oil is can sustain much longer )..

This problem is common during the monsoons, I have changed it thrice now in two years. Costs just Rs76/- so won't hurt your pocket.

I had the same problem and the solution is very simple.
You need to get the Spark Plug Cover(Black in colour) replaced. It costs around 75 bucks and happens generally during rains.
Guys, thanks for your suggestion, I got the adapter and changed it myself, the pain was to dismantle the fairing to get access to the spark plug, nonetheless was able to fix it correctly and everything is back to normal.
