i then complained to one of the owners of the showroom, the bike being new and done just 1.6k in a month and a half. the fellow asked the mechanics to then try changing the rear suspension. as usual, they didnt have it in stock. they actually removed the mono of a not so lucky r15(old one which had come for insurance claim, had met with an accident) and fitted it in mine which included stripping the whole rear of the bike and lots of hammer work and around 6 hours in all.all the while i stood see my baby in the worst ever condition. even after all the pain, when i took the bike for a test(with the mechanic), the same sound still came. but when i took it with the owner, the sound came but less frequently but it still came. the owner then said we'll do a thing, we'll fit my old mono again and this time with utmost care(includes opening the rear wholly again, refitting), the sound should go...had no time, have an exam tomorrow (haven't touched the books yet)but mom, dad were putting pressure on me and those endless phone calls -lectures on how im wasting my time.. so i left the bike there and told them ill collect it tomorrow afternoon.. they dropped me back home(atleast).. and till now that's that. besides that noise, had hard gear shifts which they said they'll take care of by adjusting the clutch and some vibrations in the handle bars, which again im worried about.what could be the reason guys??
this is the first night i cant have a look at my baby before i sleep, feeling really restless specially with the exam(mom) on my head
just hope all the problems are rectified till tomorrow...
till then any suggestions??what to do now??specially abt the gear shifts and the vibes.. please senior members help me out..
and yeah till now i haven't found any xbhpian from nagpur, maharashtra. if any senior is coming towards nagpur from pune, etc. please let me know and if possible lets meet up- have hell lotta things to ask ..
    btw thanks in advance..
Buddy.. Take it easy... I can understand you... My Bike is just 54 days old and covered 3550kms till now. Me too facing this problem. First there wasn't any sound. But i remember... Actually i noticed the sound once when i hit a big pothole ( coz here we have to off-road in Kerala highways when the monsoon comes). I went to the SVC and told the problem and i was damn sure that they will tell about he tool kit under seat. The did the same. So i moved out from there. They are "no good Louis". So i decided to check it during the first service. I insisted then to check all the links and tighten and to lubricate it. They did and there was no use. The sound was still there. But Then i got a chance to ride a new R15 ( a neighbor bought after he saw my bike). He said that he too noticed that sound from the rear suspension. So i cleared it myself by riding it to potholes. There was that irregular sound. So i think it is a common problem with the new lot of bike's suspension. Now a days i don't hear any sound from there. May be the roads here are re-tared or the problem is gone by time.. what ever... i will check it tomorrow and reply to you. Be patient man... Everything can be fixed. That is why warranty is here. You shouldn't let those idiots to strip your bike like that.. anyway stay focused on your exams.... You have a wonderful piece of machine.

        • No I Haven't faced any Vibes in my bike till now.. I think i 've just done the 2nd service day b4 yesterday. Just a oil change, that is all they did.. They didn't even tighten the engine mounting bolts too even i asked to doi that... me was in a hurry. so took the bike as soon as possible from that Mess... Came back and got my chain cleaned and lube myself. But now i thnk there are some vibrations passing 7500rpm. If you have vibes... tell the svc guys to tighten the engine mounting bolts..

Yes buddy... there is a main stand designed for R15 and it can be used as permanent fitting. For that we have to purchase main stand, the shaft, Tension spring, hose that covers the springs, 2 washers at either sides of the shaft, the lock pin, the Stopper which should be fitted on the silencer from hitting the silencer, That is all.
              Here are the part numbers.
              Main stand - 3C1-F7111-00
              Shaft - 3C1-F7112-00
              Washer - 90201-163H8
              Cotter pin - 91401-30030
              Tension spring - 90506-35003
              Hose - 90445-21848
              Main stand stopper - 4YY-F7114-00
You can order and get these from Yamaha dealers.. For temporary use like washing, chain cleaning purpose, we've to buy the main stand and the shaft only. i think the stand costs 550 and the shaft costs about 60.. ok?

              Is it clear Buddy....

              • R15 Engine Stalling

Hello all xBHPians. I am new to this forum but I have already started to become addicted to it.

I have a problem in my 10 months old R15. Its engine stalls sometimes when throttle is applied, even if gear is neutral or clutch is engaged. The cold idle rpm settles to around 1.1k.

I have read other posts where users have experienced such a problem. I pointed it out to the YAMAHA servicing guys, but they said its because the motorcycle hasn't done many kilometers yet (2.3K in 10 months).

Can anyone please let me know a list of possibilities which might be causing the engine to stall?

                              • Hey guys! Got my Black R15 a 3 days back. Will post pics later!

Have done 350Kms till now (). Can't wait to be able to cross 5000rpm.

Interesting discussion about the main stand. I have one question about this. The paddock actually:

I live in a bungalow, so public bumping into the bike is a non-issue. The only thing of concern is that the Garage floor is a little inclined; implying that if the brakes are not engaged, the vehicles roll back.
                                - So will using the paddock stand be an issue over here?
                                - Also, what are the man advantages of the paddock stand?
                                - On a related note, is it ok if I choose not to go for a main stand? Will this cause any problems?

There is another issue that I am currently facing: When I start riding the bike a noise sounds; its like rubbing of chain. The thing is that this only happens occasionally and that too only in the 1st gear. I initially thought that this might happen due to a wrong shift, but I take care while shifting to 2nd, but still the noise comes for at most (till now) 2 times. Then its gone. Is this related to the noise issue being discussed. FTR, the roads are smooth - e.g. ganeshkhind flyover, for Pune guys.

One last question. The HIDs: The SVC guy told me that I should not do anything to the bike till the 6 services are over. That of course is the typical response, but when is it a good time to get them? And any good place in Pune? I am aware that this may have been discussed, but its over 1100 pages. So you can guess.

The factory showroom (wakdewadi) has them and frankly, they are crap. Its better you go to DSG.
