SL & SJ are the grade specifications of petrol engine oils. SL is higher grade than SJ.
Guys.... Anybody here is using Billet clutch and brake levers in their R15? If so please post some pics and is there any advantage by doing that rather than looks? If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

Like Jiten above says, I don't think it's good to have an RX100 stand as a permanent fixture on this bike. Use it only for temporary purposes, for a permanent solution you're better off with the original R15 center stand, it is designed in a way that it doesn't hamper cornering, unlike the P220's stand.Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostThank you guys. With your advices, I bought the RX100 center stand. Yes, I only need the stand for repairs, washing and chain cleaning/lubrication. The stand costed me 190 and the pin was 30 bucks. Genuine Yamaha RX100 parts.. I tried it on the bike and it was very easy :P I never noticed the two holes provided to fit the stand. I'm planning to buy the spring and try the thing on as a permanent fixture for a few days... if it isn't affecting my riding and is helpful, might as well keep it.
I took some pics for future members who might have the same doubt
@ezy_rider: No, they don't have any functional purpose. They're just for the aesthetics, and that too...be warned, the golden/champagne color actually fades off.Sunny.

Exorbitant Prices!
I dont know how much those seat cowls should cost, but when I asked for a red one for my bike, they said it costs upwards of 2k

Yes, taht was the look on my face (
)
No matter what grade material, its still plastic, and just a shell..... shouldn't be 2k+ ! The entire right fairing of the bike is 2500!
And they said those fancy colored clutch and brake levers were Rs1550 PER PIECE! Hmmph, monopoly is truly a spoilsport!D'oh!

Guys... that clutch/ brake levers are not just fancy colored ones... they are made of special Billet alloys, which is much much harder and lighter than the conventional levers. Although they are not worth the 1.1K price. There should be some adjustments too for that price.
It is very sad that Yellow seat cowl is not available. If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

Guys,
I am Visiting the petrol pumps once in Two days, not for petrol but to fill air in my Tyres. Is everybody does the same? Or any problem with my Tyres.
WHere is the best place in bangalroe to check the Tyre ?
NOte:
Front tyre pressure goes from 28 to 18 in Two days
Back tyre also loosed the air pressure in a simillar fashion.
No Bends in the alloys.
Please reply on the samesigpic

Take the Bike to a Proper Tire Dealer who fixes up puntures and replaces alloys and tires and alike. Don't take to Roadside Punture Shops.Originally posted by TijoJoy View PostGuys,

Ask the Guy in that Tire Shop to examine your tire thoroughly by putting water on it and inflating the tire to a high pressure ( He would be knowing all this), and check for any small puntures, things stuck in the tire and etc.
Also, Check your Valve. How are you sure about NO bend in your Alloys? IS your tire too bald btw?
All the Best!------------------------------------------------

the same old sound from under the seat,
went to the svc yesterday, they opened the rear wheel, tightened the screws of the mono, refitted the wheel- sound still there.
they told me to come again today morning.
went again-
had to take almost all the mechanics in the wshop for a ride trying to explain the problem. in the end when no one was too sure about it, they askd me to take the so called "engineer" with me. he too wasnt sure about the reason.
i then complained to one of the owners of the showroom, the bike being new and done just 1.6k in a month and a half. the fellow asked the mechanics to then try changing the rear suspension. as usual, they didnt have it in stock. they actually removed the mono of a not so lucky r15(old one which had come for insurance claim, had met with an accident) and fitted it in mine which included stripping the whole rear of the bike and lots of hammer work
and around 6 hours in all.all the while i stood see my baby in the worst ever condition
. even after all the pain, when i took the bike for a test(with the mechanic), the same sound still came. but when i took it with the owner, the sound came but less frequently but it still came. the owner then said we'll do a thing, we'll fit my old mono again and this time with utmost care(includes opening the rear wholly again, refitting), the sound should go...had no time, have an exam tomorrow
(haven't touched the books yet
)but mom, dad were putting pressure on me and those endless phone calls -lectures on how im wasting my time.. so i left the bike there and told them ill collect it tomorrow afternoon.. they dropped me back home(atleast).. and till now that's that. besides that noise, had hard gear shifts which they said they'll take care of by adjusting the clutch and some vibrations in the handle bars, which again im worried about.what could be the reason guys??
this is the first night i cant have a look at my baby before i sleep, feeling really restless specially with the exam(mom) on my head
just hope all the problems are rectified till tomorrow...
till then any suggestions??what to do now??specially abt the gear shifts and the vibes.. please senior members help me out..
and yeah till now i haven't found any xbhpian from nagpur, maharashtra. if any senior is coming towards nagpur from pune, etc. please let me know and if possible lets meet up- have hell lotta things to ask
..
btw thanks in advance..after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!
