  • ^^ I remember my dad's Bajaj Priya Scooter had a Stepney. But Why the hell R15 would have it?

Well, first members were objecting to Saree Guard, Front No. Plate, etc. What will happen to them, once they see this?

    • ) LOL Satish... even I am finding it funny... being the one who did it

That was a new tyre for my dad's Bajaj Chetak that I bought and had to carry it home. So, tied it up on the saree guard with bungee chords and BTW, before I reached home one guy did ask me if I am going to mod my bike with that tyre... I couldn't even answer him for a while!

I have not removed the saree guard as it would be helpful in tying the luggage while touring.

Do you guys remember my Yamaha Goldwing?

Stay there for 1500 KMs minimum.... have subtle variations , I mean vary your throttle RPM ...
Also if you ride for long, it is a good idea to let the engine rest for 15 minutes after every 60 minutes of ridng...

@Hydbiker... which tank bag is that?
My mom 'gave' away my bag to someone... so i need one... how good are the magnets and do they leave scratch marks? What price? and from where?

Cramster. Newer one - bought abt 6 months back. Older ones were big enough to take helmets in but these are a little smaller than those but decently good. Rs 1300.

Used it with heavy stuff and with the extra space zip opened and filled to the brim. no sliding or what ever even on 500-700 KM trip with strong cross winds. I even did 124 KMPH steady (on speedo of course) with tank bag, saddle bags and a pillion... no issues. I am happy with it.

Of course, the first time you set it on the tank it doesn't sit perfectly and ou have to adjust it while riding. That is because we don't get the correct angle for the R15 as it is on side stand.

Yamaha is becoming strict about service dates is what I was told at Orion today when I gave my bike for the 1st service. I was outta town last week & hence missed the date of my 1st service. They made me give them the slip for the 2nd service & hence Ive missed one free service .... Even worse, they told me the bike is ready & when I checked the bike it was dirty with mud on the fairing. I made them do the washing again & some time later they gave me my bike without even wiping it & with the dirt still on it ! I made them wash it for the 3rd time & forced them to blow dry it ..... I had asked them to tighten the screw on the RHS mirror & they hadnt done that either .... sloppy work but then again the number of bikes they get on a saturday is way too much. No more weekend services for me.

I dont even know if they actually have done work on the bike. They claim to have changed the engine oil & the oil filter. The bike doesnt feel different at all. At least the chain is lubed.

Anyways was reading the manual & it states to keep it below 5000 rpm for the 1st 500 kms & 7500 rpm for the next 500 kms. Ive completed 10xx kms so far keeping it below 5000 rpm. Here everyone has suggested keeping it below 7500 rpm after the first service. Im a tad confused now. Shall I keep it below 7500 rpm till 3000 kms & then open it up ?

Also the manual states that the chain has to be lubed after each ride in the rain. Are you guys following it ? As per my limited info, working on the chain requires some makeshift/permanent central stand. How are the Blore guys managing esp these days with this anooying evening showers blessing us every day ?

              Hi Neil,...

Thats right..!!! Even my first service at Pacer Motors was worst. Luckily, they washed it nicely. But, electric connection was not properly screwed in and so many others. Later, i have given my bike for Teflon coating at Panache motors. I really felt great the way they interact with customers.
It was a really good experience. Try this place, u wil surely feel the change.

Ofcourse, u r right. These evening showers are really annoying. I think last friday was the worst of my entire life in Bangalore. From Koramnagala to Indiranagar, it took more than 3 hrs, with speed never crossing above 10kph ..... Such a terrific traffic with big rain.

Even, my bike is not so smooth after these frequent evening showers. Even, i need to get one YAMALUBE. Now, it sounds more while shifting gears. Engine is getting so hard now. I crossed 2300 Kms now.
I m not revving above 7K rpm, atleast till 2nd service. (except some 2 or 3 times )

Orion takes 1 day in weekdays also . However, at least they listen u b4 n aftr the delivery.

Chain lube I do it every 500 kms. I am nt doing it myself as I saw some finger injuries. For IT engineers, fingers r most imp. thing u knw.I take it orion on sat day morning. It takes 1 hr fr wash and lube. Moreover U can watch a movie in between . Now as its raining every evening, u can check the slack level in chain and lube accordingly. I think it ll go lesser thn 500 km. Thts my exp.

Hey, thanks man for ths servicing date probs. I did nt realise so. Within how many days we can give for servicing?
Damn, we can complain ths to yamaha. TVS sends reminder sms or call services

BTW, welcome me to the club... I've been lazy for some days now... I have spent some time with my R15 today - I have clear indication of my tappets being loose - no need for any descriptions to find out how it sounds - I can make it out now and my engine mount bolts are loose...
I officially welcome you! So, how'd you find out the mount bolts' looseness?
