even the RPM meter can show some amazing stuff . one day after constant ripping the Needle got stuck at 6k RPM and i was riding at 12k + RPM lol. Even joel had this issue once.. After a hault the RPM needle came back to 0

            • Cheap chain lube?

Guys I have been using Motul Chain Clean & Lube which cans lasted for 11.5k KMS. Now I am looking at a cheaper alternative to Motul. What are the choices available ?

                  • Flickering LED Position Lamps

@All: Has anyone here installed the Yamaha LED Position Lamps? I have them&they have been behaving weirdly-flickering, going off sometimes etc. There is nothing wrong with either lamps or sockets. Have got both checked at Yam SVC. What could the reason be?

I am still waiting for your inputs on tappet noise. No one who has adjusted it yet?

Your bike was already a good looker and the projectors would make it look even better...

When you post the pics, please post the details of the projectors and the cost too. Also, both day and night shots please...

                      • Good afternoon everyone,

Had been to Ambal motors yesterday morning to leave my bike for Service. Had got a quote of Rs 1150 for the service(includes LHS RVM Rs250). so the service cost alone comes to Rs900, which includes Engine oil change(mineral), Both the front Shock seal and oil(both were leaking), Chain lubrication. This is my second service at 2000kms. Was said that i can take the bike the same day evening by 5.30 but the job has not yet been completed and there is no response from them, When i called them yesterday they just said "i don't have your job card, Work is not yet completed" when i tell them that i was asked to take the bike in the evening, they say that the work would be completed and i can take the bike.

But when i called them this morning, they said that the Bike is still being serviced and they'll call me once its over.

I'm getting really worried that those guys might have screwed up my bike.

Whatever it may be i'm going to ambal motors this evening to see what the F*** are they doing!

You should actually be getting both the oil seals+fork oil under warranty without any labour charges..cos you're still at 2000kms. Ofcourse, unless you've recently had a crash and the front has been affected...

And you shouldn't be leaving you bike at SS for so many days lol, you better go there and demand to see your bike getting serviced. In case they don't let you see it, you can go tough against them and then contact Yamaha officials of your area by mail and post the details here. I'm sure Yamaha wouldn't want such info being published at xBhp...cos I for one know they're looking into this forum very keenly!

                          • Hey guys. Did anybody get a phone call from a Yamaha official? I got a call (refer to a few pages back where I'd said 'NO' to a SMS Yamaha had sent me about servicing) and the person asked me if I had any problems with my bike. I said that yeah, there were a few problems, but they are rectified now. He asked me what problems I had, and I told him about missing fairing screws (carelessness) and the use of ordinary mobil on the chain. He said in the future if the servicing is improper, or you are unsatisfied, tell the SVC clearly about your problem. If its taking too long, or the job is still unsatisfactory, call me (the Yam guy) right away..... I was grinning and said Sure! Thanks!

One more query, do the service centres have torque wrenches? I mean they may be having them, but do they use them while servicing? Because maximum nuts and bolts for maintainence have to be tightened to specific torque figures (mentioned in the manual). About other bolts, I'm not that worried, but for the spark plug, my dad says if its over tightened (which dumb mechs do when tightening by hand) the threads get damaged, and the plug keeps turning....
                            You get the point?? :D

                              • Guys,

Yamaha is becoming strict about service dates is what I was told at Orion today when I gave my bike for the 1st service. I was outta town last week & hence missed the date of my 1st service. They made me give them the slip for the 2nd service & hence Ive missed one free service .... Even worse, they told me the bike is ready & when I checked the bike it was dirty with mud on the fairing. I made them do the washing again & some time later they gave me my bike without even wiping it & with the dirt still on it ! I made them wash it for the 3rd time & forced them to blow dry it ..... I had asked them to tighten the screw on the RHS mirror & they hadnt done that either .... sloppy work but then again the number of bikes they get on a saturday is way too much. No more weekend services for me.

I dont even know if they actually have done work on the bike. They claim to have changed the engine oil & the oil filter. The bike doesnt feel different at all. At least the chain is lubed.

Anyways was reading the manual & it states to keep it below 5000 rpm for the 1st 500 kms & 7500 rpm for the next 500 kms. Ive completed 10xx kms so far keeping it below 5000 rpm. Here everyone has suggested keeping it below 7500 rpm after the first service. Im a tad confused now. Shall I keep it below 7500 rpm till 3000 kms & then open it up ?

Also the manual states that the chain has to be lubed after each ride in the rain. Are you guys following it ? As per my limited info, working on the chain requires some makeshift/permanent central stand. How are the Blore guys managing esp these days with this anooying evening showers blessing us every day ?
