  • Luberication of front spoket

    Hi guys,

Is it ok to lube the front spoket of the bike with the Motul Chainlube?
One of the awesome feelings I had in my life is to see the world receding on my back mirror

i was feeling a dreadful loss in power and the revs were not building up freely,..so i took the bike to "Bangalore Wheels" ,...the head mechanic said that my tappets need re-adjusting,..my bike has just done 1600 kms,..isint this a little too early,..also i was not getting any clanking or any unnatural sound from my bike,..anyways i am collecting the bike in an hour,..so lets see if shes fine now,..but this whole experience has really scared me,..i will not be taking the bike over 7.5k revs for at least another 1-1.5k kms.

Actually it is a bit too early. The manual says valve clearance check&adjust at 6K kms. But as HydBiker rightly mentioned, taking her to the high revs does for sure make them loose. Don't worry, just have a ride once the adjustment is done, and let us also know!

          • Chennai guys needing a center-stand for the R15 can get it from SRI MOTORS, Ekkaduthangal. I just got one fitted on my bike. Costs 800 bucks. 750 for the stand and 50 bucks for all accessories and 30 bucks for labour. Also got the oil changed to Yamalube 20W40 mineral. The MOTUL had become as watery as a 2K km old mineral. Beat that!

Was the rubber bush under the silencer from the R15 part? Here we don't have that, so he put in a Glady's rubber in mine. It makes the clang sound whenever I remove the mainstand.

It was available. It still makes a clang sound whenever I remove the stand due to the main pin's play.

Then it most likely is not the R15's rubber. No other bike with the rubber correctly installed makes that noise. Please confirm this again with the SVC guys. Initially they also tried telling me about the main pin etc.but I stuck to the basics&they confessed that they're yet to receive that rubber.

I got info that Venkatesha Yamaha in Hyd has 7 pieces of center stands on Saturday evening at about 5PM. I got the news at abt 8pm. They'd have closed by then and Sunday they are anyway closed. I called them up today noon and they say all are over... too much!

                    • I just did 3rd service and put in the YAMALUBE SL 15W40 Semi-synthetic oil. It feels smooth, but not as much as I'd anticipated......
                      You get the point?? :D

I checked yaar, its not touching the silencer anywhere. I think the plate present in the centre of the stand is hitting the shocker mounts. Have to check with a torchlight and lots of patience!!
