These are the Engine Manifold nuts that I was talking about(all surrounded by red circles drawn by me in the pictures):

      Nut 1:
Shown in picture 1 and 2. Picture 1 is the location, and picture 2 shows the nut that needs to be tightened. This was the most loose nut that I found in all the four nuts.

      Nut 2:
Picture 3 shows the bolt of this nut. Its nut is hidden at the other side behind the front sprocket cover and cannot be accessed until the cover is removed.

      Nut 3:
Picture 4 shows the location and picture 5 shows the close up of the nut.

      Nut 4:
Can be seen if we bend down and look at the bike's underside..sorry, couldn't take a picture!

Note: Anybody see the pipe which's left open in Picture 1? It's within the green rectangle that I made. Does anybody know what it is for and why it's left static like that and not under usage?
This is great info... Thanks Digi....

Could you advise me on how to clean my discs... i mean do i need to remove the disc assembley while cleaning it or just clean it with water and shampoo

i was charged for oil filter, what i am saying is i do not know for sure if he put in a new filter or just petro washed the old one,..i was in a hurry and could not ask him for my old oil filter,if anyone from Bangalore has experience with Perfect Riders,I request a feedback....

Even I saw that the other end goes to the induction box, but the air intake system of R15 is not as simple as in other vehicles lol! What I also know about this pipe is that future manufactured R15s won't have this unused pipe. I might be posting a joke here, but the head mechanic of Pearl Yamaha(who has been to training by Yamaha) tells it's an extension for an add-on "Turbo" if we want! Now, how many think that's true? :|

For a home-wash, just hit the caliper-disc gap with pressurised water to get rid of normal dirt. If you think the brakes have glazed and become smooth, ask the SS people to take the brake-pads out and clean them with sandpaper.

It's okay, you don't know how long it'll take for the R15 to open up. I don't think your bike's got damaged. Maybe the roughness you feel now is because of damaged engine oil. Check it and change if necessary(I'd recommend it after 500kms from first service in your case). Check your oil-filter also for clogged metal powder and stuff when you get the oil changed. And,please don't go for synthetic oil until atleast 3.5k or 5k kms.

                • Hi guys,

I am lil confused over an issue. Hope you guys clear it. I hear a loud "tak" sound when i shift(around 4500rpm) from 2nd to 3rd gear though theres no noise whatsoever at higher rpms. I didnt have this prob initially. I am noticing it since last 400kms or so. Is this behaviour normal or something to break my head upon? Btw, she has clocked 3.3k odd kms so far.

Never thought any one would ask that. Thats absolutely normal! You have no idea how loud can that sound can be if you do the same with R1
Also your bike must jerk while shifting from 0-1st gear. It happens if the engine is cold otherwise not.

by some suspicion i cleaned up the chain thoroughly with the motul spray and the motul lube,...smoothness is much better,..so il ride it for a couple of days and decide whether to change the oil or not although i bought the sl grade 20w40 mineral ,..

Yes, it does jerk when I engage 1st gear after cold start. But the 3rd gear thingy was not there earlier dude. No jerks or "tak"s whatsoever when I climb up the gear box.Why is this so only with the 3rd gear?

                          • Sorry to bud in guys but anybody got themselves a proper tank camera mount for the R15? I've been meddling about with a home made solution, which isnt too bad but i'm getting too much shake at speed coz the mount isnt sturdy enough.

Heres my first test video - YouTube - Tank camera test on my Yamaha YZF-R15

Of course they're in the US, and fitment may be an issue. Have you considered any helmet/bullet cams?

Yeah i've seen that link from an old thread and its the fitment that worries me, if someone could confirm they fit then i'd go for it. Just happen to have a mini camcorder so thought i'd make use of it..i've been eyeing the gopro cams, they have good wide visibilty but not real keen on investing that much right now...
