The front looks really good with the matt black finish. How did you do it ? I have absolutely no idea on how one goes about it so would appreciate your inputs. On the other hand, to me the rear is a bit too bling. Its different but its not something I would do to my baby. At the end of the day what you do have is one stand out R15.

P.s - how is the handling of the bike with the change in tyres ? How does it feel around quick corners ? Does it have a more planted feel with the wider footprint ?

This is my 6th bike so far Sold my Karizma after a costly accident- One more bike and my Parents and my GF both are going to kill me

I am all excited about it, Imagine my my senior managers took a ride of it and they were like kids excited with a new toy Mine is the first R15 in the department. just one day and every girl in the block has come to know about it and it was like, people coming to me and asking me to show them the new bike....

My neighbours who ever got to know about it were 'beta ek lakh mein NANO le lethe' and i was like "Aunty NANO tho nana nani chelathe hai....abi meri bike chelane ki umar hai" .

THE BEST THING IS EVEN MY BEST FRIEND(Pradeep - the one who joined on warangal trip when MG was here) HAS GIVEN HIS KARIZMA TO HIS BROTHER AND IS GETTING HIS NEW R15 RED TODAY.

hi dude....1st of all, thanks for your compliment!
the black matt finish is very easy to do. All you will need a dull black vinyl and a blower (i used hair dryer). Just cut the shape of your vinyl as of your windscreen (a little bigger size) and apply it with help of a blower....and then cut the extra ends. And ofcourse that yamaha logo you can find on any authorised yamaha showroom.....!

And ya cornering is fine as like before in the city ride as I am not into racing and all....handling is also good but the difference I noticed is in speed and pikup......not as powerful as before....
resarching to do something about it, if you have any advice please do tell me.

Can any one help me in projector lamps + angel eyes for my r15 as same as r1....
I want to do a little experiment and want to make it at home.....
there are some people who are doing this but their price demand is far too much than my budget so just thought to make it home.....
here in this forum there are many senior members who are experts in these type of things.......so just hope to get some help

There are few here who have installed HID but no Projectors on R15 that I've seen. Anyhow, you can look out for a thread called "Let there be light" on xBhp. I think you might get a solution there. Nothing much you can do as R15 does not has a high power battery.

@neil.jericho: The best way IMO to get the tinted look: Get the visor removed by Yam SC/ remove yourself. Take it to a local sticker shop. Ask him to paste dull black vinyl on the inside part. Take a look from the front part&you'll swear it was factory tinted!

Well guys, today I met one of my old friends and a senior member of Mumbai Bikers Club. He owns a Blue R15 which is 21*** kms old.

He has done record attempt GQ run on his R15 and lots of other long rides. He recently got his bike serviced by a Yamaha service engineer personally - of course out of the service station -(won't disclose his name for safety). He has done some tuning to the bike, specially to the injector - as my friend told me.

After this recent service and tuning, he said, that the bike has got some performance boost. Not much but noticable.

He said, 1) The bike has got that mid range punch which all the stock bikes lack. We get the real feel of power after 6-7k RPM. Where as his bike now feels much better at even 3.5-4k RPM.

2) with the tuning bike has got better top end whack. He said he has managed to touch 152km/hr on the machine after the tuning. He weighs around 60-70kgs.

Testing the top end increase wasn't possible for me but I wanted to check the overall difference in the bike. So took a nice test ride in the city(Mulund,Mumbai) and the change was evident. Bike felt much better even at lower RPMs. There's definitely a feel of power even at 3.5k RPM.

This is bout the performance. But wht surprised me was the bike felt amazingly crisp even after 21*** kms. Now that's the wonder of Yamaha engines. No wonder why so many yammies(2 stroke, 4 stroke) are still ruling the Indian roads even after so many years and kilometers.

No idea man... am not that into technicality..so no idea where he punched holes into...
But yeah..there was considerable difference in the mid range...

about 152km/hr.. I already said..no idea if it's true or not and can't even verify it u c.. So only took a small test ride..
