ive checked the radiator fan but the heat still persists.. at times its too much near the knees. even the faring gets a bit heated..

I agree ..I'm not a great rider..but a normal rider can understand the difference...If you still dont agree..go read the magazine reports for the IPBOTY awards..It compares all these bikes...and in it the 0-60 acceleration times are mentioned...
You can feel the difference between 4.7s & 5s?
      I'm amazed!
      And God said, "Let there be light" and there was HID Kit. And God saw that the light was good;

Yes I felt..when we went uphill..with two people on it...Karizma has a lot of torque..so when we load it...the difference felt is less..compared to R15..
But I have to say...R15 is a great bike...much better than Karizma...In all dept except the 0-60 acceleration and torque..

& if my presence doesn't get them into doing a better job than what they did with your bike, maybe both of us can go there some day & take them to task by their collar..
Hehe sure....It'd be my pleasure to give those buggers something to think about!

Umm sorry to butt in,but 0-60 timing and going uphill are two different stories! Agreed that the torque is gonna play a role there but definitely not the 0-60 timing.
Not to mention each of the automotive magazines you're referring to mention different timings, which one to trust?

Yeah..maybe..but I really felt the Karizma pulling off..when I rode it...but felt that R15 took time on a straight road...not sure..but have to say..with two people on it uphill..R15 struggles...but it handles twists and turns with great ease..first feeling after riding karizma was lack of confidence...I love my bike.. R15 rocks...

                +1 on that..
@Vinoddt1: Dude, are you into competitive racing by any chance..
Cuz identifying a time lag of 3/10 of a seconds surely requires some skill (Case in point Zma 0-60: 4.7 secs & R15 0-60: 5 secs)

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                • why are these discussions going on at page 493???
its very much clear that the R15 will struggle a bit when climbing uphill with a pillion as the low torque of the bike is not good as the zma and you cannot shift up while climbing so...hope you got the answers...
i think this is the only and most important reason...now lets stop comparing these two power babes in this thread.

Yes..have represented my district for inter district racing competitions.....so these 3/10 seconds do matter..

Sure...the next time you plan to go there immediately after your service, which I hope you won't have to but most probably will just holler!

                      • pls stop the R15 vs Karizma debate here

Guys pls do not start a Karizma vs R15 war here,..it is pointless.

The Karizma is an awesome bike in its own way,the torquey engine and gearbox makes it A-Class Tourer and city rider,it is also nearly 35k cheaper than the R15. The extra 35k gives the R15 lots of new age goodies, but the bike has a modest engine displacement, every other feature on the bik is built to make it an awesome track bike, but for heavens sake the karizma is way more comfortable to commute with than the R15,..so you see both these bikes have their own points to score and it is stupid to say one is better than the other.

PS: if you really want to spark a sensible debate compare the YZF R1-2009 and the CBR-1000 RR Fireblade-2009, of course not in this Forum!!!
There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

+1.. This is the R15 Ownership Thread & not an R15 Ownership Vs XYZ Ownership Comparison Thread..
So lets put an end to all the comparos.. (We all know our bike is a dud below 3k RPM, don't we?.. )

                            good one.
now has any R15 owner put a tank cam and gone around the Chennai race track or Coimbatore race track.
The same has to be done with all India performance bikes.

I have seen Killer Sir's attempt but that is on the road..who better than him to do a tank cam ride around the track.think he must be working on this, if he has the time that is.

there are some R1 and CBR videos on the net..race track and tank camp type..just awesome.

Is R15's throttle..electronic or pull by wire??
