It happens frequently when the bike is new, rather it continues till 2nd Service. After that the bike is ready to take the real amount of heat. Not to mention the over heating comes either at horrible traffic Or constant ripping over 130kmph for a long period of time. So I started using Semi Synth after 2nd service.Originally posted by jabez_5 View Post
Why do you think the accelerator cable is given ?Originally posted by vinoddt1 View PostFear is the Trigger!

The bike has a FI right,..so unlike carburettors, the twisting of the throttle does not directly cause the butterfly valve in the carb to open and hence meter the amount of fuel .Originally posted by vibhanshu View PostI have never opened the assembly myself bro. But it is supposed to work like that. Share with us if you find out otherwise.
The throttle response is mapped by the ECU which meters the FI for fuel,so yes it is got to be electronic. There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

I think there is some confusion here regarding the throttle being electronic or cable-linked!Originally posted by sveetvenom View PostThe bike has a FI right,..so unlike carburettors, the twisting of the throttle does not directly cause the butterfly valve in the carb to open and hence meter the amount of fuel .

riazmomin keeps a spare accelerator cable in his bike, so the throttle must be cable based..
@sveetvenom: You maybe right, but I'm not qualified enough to say if yur logic to it being electronic is correct..
@All: Anyone sure about it?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

EFI simplified
this attached image should give you guys a better idea,The accelerator has a cable for sure, but unlike carb bikes the cable is not directly responsible for metering the fuel intake, the cable is responsible only for providing a position signal to the ecu which meters fuel through the FI.There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

But can you pls post a high-res pic.. In the current one, we can only make out colourful lines..

Yes you are correct, R15 doesnt have fly by wire.Originally posted by DASCO View PostDefinately wired coz even the R1 got Electronic throttle (fly by wire) last year..(guys correct me if I am wrong).
R6 had it before R1.
Ok here is my understanding, the throttle wire is connected to the butterfly valve & the amount of air fed to the inlet valve is monitored by MAP(Manifold Air Pressure) sensor, which is used by the ECU to inject the required amount of fuel.
Similar info was available in many threads in xbhp, joels tuned R15 thread is one of them.
Guys please correct me if im wrong.Last edited by samschenker; 06-03-2009, 05:29 PM.

ur definitely right,..but efi systems have 2 ways of metering fuel:-Originally posted by DASCO View PostDefinately wired coz even the R1 got Electronic throttle (fly by wire) last year..(guys correct me if I am wrong).
R6 had it before R1.
1.TPS (Throttle positioning sensor); old system in use with most efi bikes
2. Fly by wire:a more complex electronic metering sytem, coming into motorcycles recently onlyThere is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

I agree ..I'm not a great rider..but a normal rider can understand the difference...If you still dont agree..go read the magazine reports for the IPBOTY awards..It compares all these bikes...and in it the 0-60 acceleration times are mentioned...
Haha!! LOL thats the way Adway
this guy can feel the difference of .3 secs and also who depends on statistics rather than true figure... Vinodd do one thing! take ur bike on a straight road and start practicing the drag! Am sure this will anser you!
