  • Re: Yamaha YZF-R15

Hey guys...my bike has got some unusual oil leak...it leaked 1 or 2 drops a day but the bottom and lower part seem to have some staining marks..but after tightening the drain bolt the drops of leak have stopped but the drain bolt looks like its covered in oil and doesn't seem to dry out. its a 09 r15 done 70k kms . serviced about 1k kms back.
Never faced any sort of problem and this is the first so quite worried. can anyone throw some light on what this could be?

        • Yamaha YZF R15 Daytona Kit Suggestions

          Hello everyone!
This is my first post here after spending days going through the website.
I got my R15 3 months back and it has run 3800 km. I wanted to go for the Daytona Kit (Engine + Muffler). What do you guys suggest? Shall I spend 1-2 years more on stock assembly and go for mods later? Also do traffic police really fines for the muffler sound? (as the kit is for racing circuits only)

Get ur engine tunned Nothing else and check air filer if needed replace it don't use after market performance filters use stock one.and check for engine tune means tapet adjustment, idle rpm check, spark plug check, and clutch check for tightness that's all you have to do.

                Hi nitin,
You are not supposed to ride the bike without engine oil. Start the bike and check if you see any smoke in silencer at high rpms.. If yes then please check the cylinder.
                Thanks,

Anyone with decent knowledge of LEDs, i need help.

I am thinking of doing LED setup for my v1 tail. Something like this one right here.

Hobby Circuits: Yamaha YZF R15 custom LED Tail Lamps

Instead of red I am thinking of using white LEDs connected in series of around 3 or 4 maybe if possible. Then connect such strings in parellel to the brake and tail lamp connections. Due to my limited knowledge of this LED thing, I am not able to figure out resistor required for a single strip.

Assuming around 3.5V for single typical white LED, connecting 3 (note: 4 impossible) such LED in series consuming ,say 20mA current with a 12V supply.
so I guess calculations would be

                  [12- (3x3.5)] / [20mA] = resistor value R

                  ^^^ is this correct?
                  Inputs needed.

Check out the new LED Indicator here A known fact is that a stock R15 comes with an incandescent tail lamp, with a pow...

You do realize that changing the stop light/brake light to white is not legal and more importantly it is not safe , there is a reason why stop lights are red.

Now as far as lighting query goes.

Here you go. You will get all answers regarding the project you want to do.

Thats the same link I visited, it shows with red LEDs.
Problem with red LED is that it is already emitting red light, white LED in the red outer casing lens would definately appear more bright and adequately red.
But white LED consume more voltage so I can't use the same resistors, the design needs to be changed a bit. That is what I asked for.

I posted one in lighting section thread so no need to continue it here.
                          cheers mate

Is R15 v2 swing arm directly fit into v1. has anyone tried it?
Or some modification required for that.
When i google this & found some pics.
                            I m going to buy used r15 v1.
Main problem with v2 is its pillion seat.
                            thats why select used v1.
                            as new v1 is discontinued.

Will rply in morning Bro first let me check measurement and cons with swing arm fitted on v1,let me check my R15 V2 for balancing facts concerned with swing arm modification
