    • R15 rear tyre

Guys, Yamaha SS in Bangalore dont seem to have stock of the R15 tyre. They have asked me to get it from the MRF showroom.

Checked with the MRF showroom/other shops in JC road.. they too dont seems to have R15 rear/front tyre.

Do you guys know of any place in Bangalore where the rear tyre is available?

        • ACTUAL Bike Run-in / Break-in method!

Hey all dudes there, I have got something very interesting regarding our bikes actual Run-in method!

This guy claims his method to be the best for a bikes run in for first 33 Kms!
He also recommends using a simple engine oil (Multiple Examples Stated in Article) for the first 33 Kms and then change it to our favourite ones..!!

HE has defended himself quite nicely in feedbacks provided by the readers!!

Can anybody cross check his technical reasons with the experts??

He has also written about how to clean the engine parts with care in his other article!!

Seriously Guys, his article is damn exhilarating!! Just check it out carefully and revert back to all....

Yes it will void the warranty.... Which aftermarket exhaust are you talking about?

KRP and some others were discussed way back in this thread.... avoid em

BTW Did any one note, Yoshimura makes a can for the Yamaha t135 which is the same engine platform for R15/Vixion

I wrote to the Indian and Singapore COntacts as listed on thw website but got no revert!

Hey Anthony, I had no intention to hunt for a post that is interesting just for my FIRST post!!??

Well, if this is not new, why do guys here still follow the manual Break-in / Run-In methods and insist on using Premium Engine Oils for the first 33 Kms also as stated by Moto Man ???

Has Moto Man's method turn out to be the best for anybody here??

Eventhough you say its not something new, please justify stating the Pros and Cons of this method !!! It would definitely help out the new buyers of Yamaha R15 including me!!

R15 is too much a well mannered bike.We Indians want bikes that will let us live life on the edge.A bike that jumps up and away at traffic signals, bikes that will loose out its rear end and skid when it is braked hard and not bikes that will perform flawlessly giving a good top speed without vibes, cornering at 100+ speeds , allowing you to brake and correct your line in the middle of a corner etc..like the R15.
Its all because for Indians like you and me, a bike is the only affordable means of transport to take us from Point A to B and not a recreational tool or toy that lets you enjoy.

Hey buddy, I am sure you have bought your bike from Yamha Factory Shop, malad , isn't it?

How do you find its Service Center? Are they Profs in servicing the parts like tappets or do they come up with excuses like others? Thanks.

hay man,i intensively researchd motoman run in,..i did run in my bike the motoman way,..dnt spoil ur head with it much, the technique is for usa and europe, wherein the trafic and the engines r much different,in india, the way we ride our bikes naturally,ie varying revs, stop and go,switching off at signals, thats the perfect way to run in,the first 35kms,i did take it upto 7.5k revs,my bike is perfect ,may be the only draw back is my tappets needed readjustment at 1.6k kms,but other than that,it runs like a dream.

                          • Umm anyone from Bangalore who'd gone for the "Racing Ridetech Challenge" at Palace Grounds today? Anything interesting or worth mentioning? I'm surprised there's not been much spoken about it here!

I've always used that method for all my bikes, it's only been mentioned in Mototune USA just a few years back, that's why it is not something new for me, as for the pros and cons i don't see any negative effect in any of my bikes owned in the past, btw i have done the break in of my R15 by the so called 'mototune' way too and my bike runs butter smooth, you can try my bike anytime you want to.

Yeah The RTR has spoiled me, I am looking for a reasonable upping in the R15s performance. I find the Bone stock bike to be insanely boring!

The RTR is back in the house, It will go to the SVC in this week, Once its back the R15 will undergo a paint job. Once the R15s back, And I have enough moolah in hand then the RTR will go for a paint job!

So what was your point again, and may be once a while its a good thing to stop generalizing stuff.

I do want a bike that jumps away at traffic signals, but I dont want a bike to loose out its rear end and skid when braked hard, I do want a bike which will "perform" flawlessly giving a 'good' top speed without a lot of vibes, and allow me to brake and correct my line in middle of the corner!

The R15 doesnt jump away in the traffic, it doesnt 'perform' flawlessly, infact it has the worst midrange and low end pull of all the bikes that I have ridden!

BTW this has got nothing to do with Indianess, internationally the Hondas, the Yamahas, the Suzukis and the Kawasakis are all known for thier different traits... each of which caters to a different 'need' of the buyers...!
