I have filled the Yamalube semi-synth in my R15&feel it is good. My bike never suffered from any vibes so I can't really tell the difference. However, the advantages of synths over minerals is pretty evident-check in the Engine Oils thread for more details. You can go with Yamalube semi-synth, as the Yamaha guys might not like you using full synths from other companies!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Random question. Does anyone know why Yamaha is persisting with those (matt?) black components of the fairing for the red and black bikes but give the blue model an all blue fairing ? I wouldve gone in for the red one without hesitation if only the fairing was all red. This red - black - red thing doesnt set my pulse racing. Might sound trivial but if someone from Yamaha is reading this, please make the fairings solo coloured.Last edited by neil.jericho; 03-10-2009, 05:44 PM.

Yes it can be seen without opening the fairing. Bend down on the left side&look through the gap in the left fairing. You will notice a white box. There will be 2 markings, Full&Low. If you shake the bike, you'll know where the coolant level is!Originally posted by testing2000 View Postfriends,
please tell how or where to look to check my coolant level in R15?
can it be seen without removing the fairings?
please let me know!?

R15 Problems with no solution
This is my first post in XBHP. I was a silent and ardent follower of this thread for the last 7 months (including the period when XBHP crashed). For the last one month or so I am continuously facing issues with my bike. I did whatever i could, be it reading all the posts time and again, taking my bike to the service center every other day. But the problems never got fixed.
The problems :
a> The throttle response is pretty stiff, not the usual free feeling
b> Lots of chain noise (even after loosening and then again stiffening) now the chain is fixed in between 2 and 3.
c> The engine seemed to have turned pretty harsh
d> The top speed have taken a beating and even though I am able to reach 127 but it doesn't give me the comfort feeling that I used to have.
e> Front Disc (No stock in Mysore for the last couple of week and can not expect one in another couple)
I work in Mysore and my work location is just 4KM from my home. I bought my bike on 11th July, 2008. Rode it for 2.5 months and clocked around 5K KM. Then went abroad for 2.5 months leaving my bike with a friend who clocked 1.5K during that period. I came back on Jan 2009 and till date it has clocked 10.2K. The initial 2.5 months I maintained the bike like my baby and it never gave me any single problem and only at that time I clocked 134 on speedo in 5th Gear(ofcourse after the initial run in period) and ran out of road so could not progress more. But the period when it was not with me must have spoilt the bike adding to it the worst service I have ever got from Yamaha SC.
I am speculating that none of the people from the Yamaha SC have been trained properly here in Mysore. Whenever I take my bike for servicing it feels like they have just cleaned it and nothing else.
Guys please help me out around here. I have lost all the hope of getting the stock form of my bike in Mysore and the Bangy Yamaha SC doesn't seem to be promising. If I am not able to solve my problem in another couple of weeks then I will ride all the way to Pune to get it serviced in the Yamaha Probiking center.

well, look at the entire R series. The basic scheme is a solid colour and matt black side panels. Only special editions (like the blue one - that's the Yamaha Racing scheme) get multi tone colours on the body and the side panels.Originally posted by neil.jericho View PostRandom question.
