@ singhisking: ATGATT is right on sir! (Is that your rottweiler in the avatar??)

I cannot over emphasize the importance of ATGATT right now. Please wear it! The damage suffered by the knee guard and helmet show where I could have been without them: possible fractured skull, and broken knee cap.[/quote]

          Dear Pudix,
thank god you r okay!Just got back from a BOM-PUNE-BOM ride for the Holi holidays and read your post.I try to be ATGATT ,Daiya helmet from DSG Pune,Kevlar leather gloves & Armoured mesh jacket(from USA,ordered from the web and brought back by a friend, discoverd on unpacking that both have been made in our friendly nieghbouring country)
Alpine stars external knee guards and sturdy calf length Leather boots(army DMS boots, available near any cantonment, got mine from topkhana bazaar,Rinku Singh's shop,Dilkhusha,Lucknow cantt, the best ones with Italian soles cost 650 which is a steal)
Yes thats Maximus the great, named after the General in Gladiator. One year old Rotty born in bangalore and a real darling,
Got licked by a Pulsar 180 on the Khopoli-Panvel twisties,he was really fast and had good control,of course I was fully loaded with my gear,Cramster turtle tank bag,Cramster Saddle bags and not to mention my 104kg frame, bechara bike kya karey?neverthe less had a great ride made it in 2 hrs 40 min non stop from Pune Cantt wanowarie to Colaba, vey sparse traffic due to Holi, got a kmpl of 42 mantaining 90-100 most of the way,as posted earlier the max speed on my R15 is 116kmph.On the BOM-PUNE run on monday evening left 30 min after wifey who was in a Volvo going via the expressway, beat her by 30 min inspite of heavy traffic from colaba to chembur and a 15 min vada sambhar chai stop at Ramakrishna Lonavla, what a rush!!
Touring makes me feel so alive!Dont know how long I can go on though since parents ,wifey etc are against it,only supporter is my teenaged son!
They had made me sell my RD 350 and BMW F 650 many years ago and the R15 was a secret buy!! All hell broke lose when it was delivered!
          Take care and Happy Riding

          • I went for first servicing of my gladiator RS at sri srinivasa yamaha(secunderabad)and what a disgusting experience was it.They told me that I cant use other engine oils rather than yamalube . the SS guys just changed the oil , cleaned the air filter and did nothing.Even they charged me high

            1.oil 180/-
            2.misc. 20/-
3.chain lube 50/- (wruth chain spray)

Now I am really frustrated and have decided to get my bike serviced at PEARL yamaha .Most of u have had experience with them ,how was there response? do they allow oils other than yamalube and also do they charge for lubing the chain ,if yes how much.

Sorry to post this query here,I couldn't find a better place

            • Uday, we do have an ownership thread for Gladiator. You are still with first service... you can use the Yamalube happily.

Just one small doubt Jawed, how much have you spent on your R15 from its purchase date till current date on paintjobs alone? Keeping the repair jobs, etc aside?
I'm sure it's a lot more than the bike itself costs! :|

I did see many R15's with HID's but all those that I closely observed were the cheap east asian makes.

                            • Pearl Yamaha. Not yet readily available. They're asking for a week days and taking bookings.

It seems Shah Yamaha (not sure if the name is correct) in RamKoti would have stock!

Hey KP, in case you took that outta the showcase on the 1st Floor, that stand belongs to the FZ! I had also asked the same thing when I went there last time!

Edit: But as you know, they have only 2 mainstands for the R15, both which are being used by them for servicing purposes only.
