See, every vehicle faces problem with strong winds. What matters is how strong the wind was and how easily the wind can pass through your vehicle.

Having said that, with optimum tyre pressure I had no trouble doing a ton or more speeds during the heaviest of the cross or head winds I have faced so far on the R15. Once my tyres were over inflated and there was some trouble.
I think it might have been the possibility. It was a hot afternoon, After running for 1.5 hrs at quite a speed, tyres might have become really hot, causing the increased air-pressure...

Thanks for the advice. Next time, I'll remember to take break after 80-90 min.

I bought a black R15 last month(shes my first ride!). She has clocked over 1.1k kms. I got her serviced yesterday and have few issues. I got the engine-oil and oil-filter changed and the chain lubed. Couldnt get the coolant topped up as they didnt have stock! And, now, some chick-chick sound is heard and the engine has lost the charm, it has become somewhat harsh!

Can anybody help me overcome these issues? Some inputs would be appreciated...
Common problem. I faced the same after my 1st service. I believe that the sound is in the front part of chain. Thats the front sprocket i think. The noise has to do with the chain tightening and lubing of sprocket. Pearl was the right option for the service. Visit the Pearl SS again and meet a guy called 'Jahangir'. Tell him that you have this problem. Initially he'll say that its a minor sound but convince him to fix it. He'll adjust the chain tightening and lube the sprocket with lube and little grease. Its a 10 mins job. You can take my name (if that bugger would remember).

      Goodluck!!

      • chain noise has two common reasons

        1) extra chain ply or too tight chain
        2) lack of proper lubrication on the chain & the sprockets.

check them and set them right.

hmmm... does that give any elite or cult status???

I notices a few days back that I crossed 800 posts and thought I was spending a lot of time with xBhp.com

            -----------------------------------

BTW, guys, can someone list out what all checks & replacements are needed at 12K service fo an R15?

I lost my manual and hence not able to refer to it.

I cannot type 4 pages of the checks here...I suggest you take a xerox from me one of these days. Putting in the replacement points here for the 12K service though.
                1. Replace Spark Plug- I know, NGK Iridium is waiting!
                2. Replace Air filter element.
                3. Swingarm- lubricate with lithium-soap-based grease.
                4. Steering bearings- lubricate with lithium-soap-based grease.
                5. Engine oil filter element- replace every 10K km.on odometer.

Frankly, we're not sure what it sounds like. But then, the engine sound changes to a little harsher note and that stays.

                  • Pulsars envy on R15.

Today morning i went from home to office around 8 am. I am on constant speed about 65 and on NH road. One pulsar 150 guy cross cut me and looking behind to see whether i am going for drag, but i am not that sort of guy. After some moment he slowed down and let me pass, and then one more time has crossed me, and i could see a kind of smile on his face. but i never en thrilled yet. my r15 is just crossed 1k mark and i am yet to rip it. then i saw a long and narrow turn ahead of me. then i thought ok let me show him why i am not after him, i went ahead zoomed @ 90, took blend turn and went of, where in my mirror i saw that guy has slow down on the turn. now i know the power of R-15, real hero.

Note: After that i went back my normal 60km riding as usual.
now i see , why others are envying R15.

                    • ^^ this kind of behaviour is extremely common here in Chennai. Lots of people wanting to race the R15, I try ignoring them most of the time but once in a while do teach them a lesson .

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but this kind of behaviour is generated by people. It has nothing to do with machines. So please don't come out with generalistic statements like pulsars envy R15 or R15 the real hero (LMAO!) It will only fuel war.

It is not only the R15 but so many bikes that do these. I have been behaved with the same, especially when I am with a female friend of mine, multiple times. Some of those times it was also an R15. Does that mean all R15 riders act that way? No. Those guys will act the same even if they are riding a splendor, Pulsar150, 200,220, R15, ZMA, RX.

                            • Let us all cool down. I see the posts getting out of hand slowly. As for Pulsar vs. R15 'debate', it is bound to continue lifelong without any 'party' backing off! So, we should leave it at this.

Hmm. I guess I am speechless. I will let others answer to your exotic behaviour. Peace.
