ur tacho is getting used to your high revving & thought it is useless to go below 5K RPMOriginally posted by Joel View PostNo some 5-10 mins later, after I switched off and turned on again, things got back to normal.
Shouldn't this be something to note down for future references.... ? if it behaves like that again later!

Hi Samarr,Originally posted by samarr View PostHello,
Yes. They are right. I have the same dillema as urs. As both are near to my place domlur. As I mentioned b4, panache ppl did not gave gud response, I droped my plan from there. Orion were much enthustic. However I had gone through all post here in xbhp n orkut. Its like u hv to give them a buzz everytime. Let me share them.
1) The day of delivery i had to call them abt the status.
2) For servicing, they dont give u a call or sms. I hv an apache at my place. The showroom gives call to my bro. reminding abt services.
3) At servicing time, they hardly cares abt riders view or reqs. So if u less spoken guy, its a call for trouble. Its mandatory to ask rider if hv any specific issue any quality issue. HHS ppl do tht. So u hv to tell thm abt all smaller to bigger issue urself.
4) No status update during the service. U hv to check whether its done or not.
Quality of the work is ok(not bad), if u keep a good watch and buzz them wat u want. Dont expect them to notify abt some future prbs in bike or precautions.
So if u hv the patience, u can go ahead. Else u can buy frm thr and took servicing from other places like pacer. I wanted to do my 2nd servicing there, but office work is not permitting much time. I m getting used to giving them buzzes
.
Hope ths helps...
I was thinking of doing exactly what you had suggested - pick it up from Orion & get it serviced elsewhere. Could you throw some light on your experience with them while buying the bike & during delivery ? I am stuck in office these days on weekdays so its only on Saturdays that I will be able to head that side. Would appreciate any inputs from others as well

I m running on fully synthetic after 2nd servicing. And top end its nice to ride. Though could not find much diff. at city riding mode.(3k-5k)Originally posted by Aparajith View Post6. In both oils I found no difference in pickup or top-speed. Moreover the fully synth smoothens out too much at the top end robbing u the feel of revving to the red-line.
I paid by check. I got the bike in 3 working days with registration. If u pay by cash/ccard u ll get in 2 days it seems. As I said I dont rely much on thm. I had to call thm whether bike is ready or nt. I reached at evening. I did asked for a special no. Thts the only time he called tht its nt available and I have to pay extra for it. During delivery its too rush bcoz lot of new booking and delivery was thr.He was askin me to come next day. Still I kept bugging thm and finally gt it. Make sure they deliver u tool kit and 1st aid kit. Also look for scrathces. Dont accept if any damage is thr. Take 1-2 frn as in excitement we forget to notice simple n minor things. They set the initial rpm to 1.5k themselves. Also they washes the bike b4 deliver. They ll give some instructions. Most of u must b aware of nw from forum like initial rpm n etc.Originally posted by neil.jericho View PostHi Samarr,

Ask them to tune the horn. Or else u hv to wait till 1st servicing. They can do it. In my last servicing after repeated asking 1st they did nt rectify the prob. But tuned it at the time of delivery.

guys, did anyone change their fork cone set?
at what Odo reading and what's the price?
my bike started giving "tak" sound now & then since the past 4 days. It could be that the forks need to be tightened or may be the cone set needs a replacement. Well, at 11.5K KMs on the Odo for a Yamaha Flagship bike, it would be too much to ask for a fork cone set replacement.
Let us see how it goes at the next service due soon.
I tried buying front brake pads as mine would be worn out pretty soon and I don't want to be in a situation of no stock! To my surprise, the spares guy at Pearl Yamaha told me that no stock of front pads available and only 3 pieces of rear pads available. Stock seems to be a problem and they don't have confidence of getting the brake pads soon.
Bloody hell, these are the consumables for God's sake... No 4T oil was available too. I bought the rear disc pads (the ones I'm running on still have life) but am looking for the front pads (need a replacement soon).
Does anyone know if any other Yamaha SC has the stock in Hyd?

New Engine Oil
Got the 4th service done today. Changed the oil to Yamalube 15W50 Semi Sythetic SL grade. The engine feels much smoother now. All the vibes have disappeared.
Cost of engine oil - 415
Other two oils were also there:
1. Yamalube mineral oil 20W40 SG grade for 185/-
2. Yamalube mineral oil 20W40 SL grade for 220/-

Very old issue! Vibes shouldnt be that much. According to mech its coz of improper use of clutch and also it shudnt damage the bike. Avoid over ripping the bike (if).Originally posted by souvikb83 View Postthe handling of my bike has become rigid...and also when theres a "tik tik" sound coming when in idle. From where is this sound coming and also it seems to be vibrating more when idle and the clutch is disengaged.but when engaged the vibration goes away and also the sound.can help me on this??

@ Vibhanshu
I don't think so there so there is any problem to use semi synthetic after the 2nd as you must have clocked 3k kms.
Try the yamalube its good. One of the awesome feelings I had in my life is to see the world receding on my back mirror
