I hear a huge thud sound when I remove the bike off the main-stand! What could be the reason?!

Btw, I got the 2nd service done 10days back. Lately, I have noticed that the numbers on the adjusting plates on the either side of the swingarm are mismatching. The number(groove) on the right adjusting plate is one up. I brought it to the notice of the mechanic(today, when I went to get the main-stand fixed) who serviced my bike back then. He said that he did it intentionally as the same number on the either side is making the chain too tight. At times, I get a feeling that the performance has taken the beating(after I discovered the diff in the plates). Not much though. Prior to the discovery, I didnt find any diff in the ride.

    Guys, your inputs are needed!
The numbers should never be mismatched unless one of your adjusting plates is defective or your swing arm is defective. Mismatching numbers of the adjusting plates will make the wheel move out of alignment and the wheel'll get dragged, will have improper and excessive wear, you'll have handling issues too..surprised you didn't notice the change in handling uptill now!
    Sunny.

No...I couldnt notice any diff in handling yet! She sways to left ocassionally in crosswinds, though the sway is very very less but noticeable.Btw,the right plate is just one groove up. I'll get it adjusted asap.

      • @Srijan: Read the last few posts between Aparajith&me. The rubber used below the silencer is not the R15's-it is from the Gladiator.
Btw, where did you say the Yamalube chain spray is available in Hyderabad?

@Vibhanshu&Srijan: I have seen a few Pulsars with disco LED lights that you guys were interested in. They will for sure be available at Koti.

@HydBiker: Vibhanshu says no stock of mainstand at Venkatesha. Maybe you can try the place mentioned by Srijan.

I think the clang sound that it makes is dude to the contact between parts elsewhere, not just btw the stand and the gladi rubber.

It was available at OPAL MOTORS, oppo. to narayanaguda water tank(Near shanti theatre). I dont know if they still have the stock. This should help 040-23428535/36

I was never interested in disco-LEDs dude... I wanted white LEDs+socket which would fit in our bikes as an alternative to Yamaha's white position LEDs coz they would burn a big hole in my pocket.

          • Can anyone help me with the following specs of R15's stock horn? I am looking for an alternative for the stock ones as they are too bleek!

            -Voltage
            -Current consumption
            -Frequency: Low Tone/High Tone</B>
            -Sound pressure
            -Resistance
            -Type of sound
            -Weight
            -Dimension

Well, I am not sure if SHAH MOTORS stocks chain spray cans. Anyways, try 'em on 040-66738180.

Btw, OKS is doing great! It lasts very long. Chain could sustain 700kms+. There was no noise whatsoever! But, still, I lubed it today coz it looked dry. There was no much lube on the chain.

Why dont you grab OKS instead? It is cheaper and better!

Thanks for the nos. I'll call them tomorrow.
I wanna try Yamalube coz AFAIK, Motul is gone with one ride in the rain. The sound is back.

Maybe you're finding the difference too less because you got used to riding it that way..try riding someone else's R15 once, that should help you differentiate :P

And dude, even one mm difference is a lot when it comes to alignment. It's like riding with a screwed up and bent chassis, now that definitely isn't good, right? So, even with with 1 groove difference, it should make a plenty of difference.

In that case, its the same with OKS!

I came across a OKS chain lube spary for bikes which claims to be dust resistant and water repellent. I dont know how good it fares! Its review is available with BI-april edition.

Whoa! This is scary! I'll get it aligned tomorrow. Perhaps, that guy was too lazy to align it when I asked him to, today.

Its just the lube dude There is no degreaser. You can use kerosene to clean it though.

I think, the rating is 20W40(mineral oil, both SL and SG). Correct me if I am wrong.
