Yes, it is due to the dust only, especially observed during monsoons.

You are right-the manual also recommends brake fluids&'internal components' (above mentioned parts I guess) of brake to be changed every 2 years.
If one actually goes by the manual, the bike can be kept in mint condition for years. But sadly, none of the mechs.pay any heed to whats written there. At the 12K kms./1 year end service they are supposed to grease the monoshock links and the race ball bearings of front wheel, but they didn't do it on my bike, inspite of my asking many times. Now my rear suspension is giving out the characteristics tak-tak sound&the front tends to sway a bit. Now that the bike has completed 2 years, there are a lot more things to be done.

@Old R15 owners: Is the radiator replacement thing only done for the bikes in warranty period? Coz mine is out of it,&I couldn't go to claim my FOC replacement. Mine belongs to the initial batches (July 2008), so was thinking about it.

Don't think so, has your radiator given any trouble?

I would get my brake oils replenished in the following service.

Nope, no trouble at all. But many of the old owners like Santa, Tibby etc.got it done since in any case the coolant has to be changed at the end of 2 years. Moreover, its FOC!
So I wouldn't mind getting it done too.

Yes! I got it changed man. Details posted a couple of pages back.
Not aware of a good tyre shop man. Never had the need.

And also, I was referring to the service manual, not owners manual.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I had change my radiator beginning this month, SC guys told me that, it will free within warranty period (2 yrs or 30,000 KM). I think your bike has crossed the period.

Still you can try, ask SC people, if they ready to change it free of cost.

It seems like fault code 14, "Intake air pressure sensor (clogged pressure detect hole)."

                  Hi Sarvajit,

I got my raditor replaced 2 weeks back. I had purchased it in july 2008, so warranty had expired but still they are changing it FOC, however I had to pay for the coolant!

                  • hey guys
im running through some tough times with my baby...
today morning i had a crash witha a bus....crash, not a fall...thank rgod nothing happened to me, not even a small bruise...it all happened due to a couple of guys on foot....its a long story

the thing is my bike's right side got completely damaged...the right panel whish has the R15 graphic on, indicator completely displaced and the exhaust damaged...luckily got it replaced today itself
had to search a lot for the spares specially the STAY PROTECTOR which is directly below the exhaust cap....got it after searching it in 3 show rooms in hyderabad....the thing is the stupid mechanics in the SVC's here dont really know which spare parts would be even manufactured...for a small part which costed me 170 bucks, he asked me to change the entire exhaust...

guys if there are any one who have spare part woes in hyderabad, just go to SRI SRINIVASA AUTOMOBILES in ranigunj...they seem to have all the spares..almost....

                    • Today, I saw the most beautiful thing ever.

A guy on a blue R15 at night riding around. He had matching blue neons inside the Fairing! The place where the hot air comes out between the fairing. It wasn't too bright, just a tinge and looked simply beautiful!

I wish I could take some pics and put it up but he was going the other way and I was in traffic
                      D'oh!

sad man...ride safe.. indian traffic is probably the worst condition for a biker thanks to those auto wallas, trucks, buses and worst - women drivers/riders .
btw, how much did you shell out overall???and how much does the exhaust cost anyway? actually due to unknown reasons, i have some scratches on the exhaust pipe, no other option available(correct me) except replacement.

                        guys,
today for a moment, my heart forgot to beat when while taking a sharp turn, my left foot(shoe) actually touched the tarmac !! i was damn scared as it also could lead to a serious accident. i was not trying a knee down though i was cornering - just taking a sharp turn, body at an angle synchronous with the bike and my shoe ( a woodland pretty fat) touched the tarmac when it was under the gear lever. what could be the culprit? shoe or faulty technique???
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

don't know about this one though, i feel any mods on a bike so good looking, looks cheap specially those guys with hair spiked up, dark skin tone, put on so much perfume that it smells from a km away, not wearing safety gear, speaking in a funny hindi accent riding on a r15? looks cheap... oops forgot to mention -riding on high beam

Of course your riding technique Buddy................ You are not supposed to hang down your feet like that even if you are cruising on highways.. Keep the ball of foot on the foot peg while riding. Don't keep your heel on the foot peg and hang your rest of your foot down.. Keeping your ball of foot on the peg just gives a little more sporty feeling.. These are just my opinion from derived from my experiences and experiments.. Experts can suggest more...

If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

Yes me too agree with this.... I don't like to do all these funny accessories in such a good looking bike.. If they wan't to have their bike stand alone from the crowd, Yamaha is offering a bunch of accessories.. a rear cowl, bar ends, billet levers.. they could do the job pretty well.. Right? I envy to Black, Blue & Red color R15s coz they could have single seat cowl. Mine is yellow and rear seat cowl is not available for yellow... I thought yellow rear seat cowl is available before i bought the bike... I really love tht single rider concept..

ONe more,... My bike has covered 3.6K kms till.. Gear shift was a little bit clunky all these days.. from yesterday i feel it is super smooth. I had a clutch play adjustment a day before.. how ever... It is really fun to ride now.. To be frank i am itching to ride her even when i am writing this too.... I am much busy these days.. waiting for the "big sunday" to come...
