Thanks for your valuable info.Only once that also in 2700km on ur odo. did you read the manual of the bike when you got her brother . This is O-ring chain, for the first 5000kms on ur odo, you need to get the chain lubricated every 500kms thats what the Pro Service guys out here told me. after that you can pull it to 1000km without getting lubricated, but this also depends on which weather condition you are riding.

I am seeing lot of people going for HID headlamps. But it produces much more glare than halogen lamps.
This is what I found on wikipedia :
" HID headlamps are markedly less prevalent in the US, where they have produced significant glare complaints.
Scientific study of headlamp glare has shown that for any given intensity level, the light from HID headlamps is 40% more glaring than the light from tungsten-halogen headlamps."
Being xbhpians should we go for HIDs ?

HID'd produce a huge amount of glare compared to halogens and it can easily blind the on coming traffic and cause danger to them and you.Originally posted by pkb View PostI am seeing lot of people going for HID headlamps. But it produces much more glare than halogen lamps.

but HID's in projectors produces almost no glare!and that is the way to go!
so if your planning to plonk the HIDs into your stock reflectors,my answer is NO!

. And if they are used sensibly it doesn't cause any trouble to on coming traffic. Yes they glare a bit but there are ways to reduce the glare

I have adjusted my low beam reflector to point downwards, so there is a distinctively noticeable cut-off line on the road ahead of me. This prevents the bright light from going on to the oncoming lane traffic and cause glare. I did this because a lot of people on the oncoming lane used to use the dipper at me and it annoyed me a lot, and I also felt sorry for themOriginally posted by RanjithMN View PostHID'd produce a huge amount of glare compared to halogens and it can easily blind the on coming traffic and cause danger to them and you.

Now, I don't have that problem anymore. Nobody feels the glare and I have enough lighting on the road. But whenever an errant oncoming driver is using high beam and its ****ing with my face, then I switch on the high beam, which vaporizes his retina and bestows permanent vision damage.
Thanks to HIDs, I'm a better biker

..
i don;t understand wt means by sensibly using HID [non-projector installed]..
When ever i see punks using HID on there bike/cars [instead of normal recommended bulbs [again non-projector ones]] i curse them many times... they are nothing but criminals... specially indian roads with lot of patholes and daily changing/emerging pits middle of the road .. if some one with HID full beam comes from opposite direction ..only GOD saves us
@Navnish .. nothing personal here .. i know u recommend proper installation and use .. but not every buyer will listen to u sadly

Won't using HID's without the projectors cause damage to your reflectors and assembly glass?Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostI have adjusted my low beam reflector to point downwards, so there is a distinctively noticeable cut-off line on the road ahead of me. Important updates after visiting the SVC
Gave my bike for 6th Servicing yesterday...
with the problem which i mentioned in my previous posts... related to clutch.. you can go back to my previous post for what the problem was!
The SVC in-charge happens to be my close fren's fren... so we got introduced through it. Luckily, am getting my clutch housing change and replaced under warranty. I had some problem with it.. infact a lot.
The parts was not readily available thanks to Yamaha... but will soon get it replaced. Members throw some light... why is that my clutch housing needs to be replaced when my bike is just 1 year old and 8k kms on odo... is it because of the poor quality of Yamaha???
P.S: My bike is from first lot.. 20P1 engine model (boy i love the engine refinement)

Gave my bike for repairing the damaged right side today. Never ever give your bike to your friends you can end up like me
Parts to be changed are:
1. Headlight cowling
2. Headlight assembly
3. Right side inner fairing
4. Right side outer fairing
5. Exhaust cover
6. Exhaust cap
7. Right side rvm
8. Rear Brake Lever
They've given me an estimate of 5k. lets see how much the actual cost comes out to be.
How much can I expect the insurance claim to be??

That depends on the age of your bike and also your insurance company. I had mine done at National insurance and I got 50% on fibre parts and 80% on metal parts(<2yr old bike). Expect around 2.5k from insurance claim.Originally posted by Parth View PostGave my bike for repairing the damaged right side today. Never ever give your bike to your friends you can end up like me

How old is your Friend bike? Looking at the Video my suspicions point to the battery, It is draining out or is not charging properly. Have it checked out at your Nearest YAMAHA service center."I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine. If I get home before day light, just might get some sleep tonight" - The Grateful Dead.

please stop using the engine kill switch to stop the bike unnecessrily. a loose connection here and there around the switch could cause nuisance. get the electricals of the bike checked.Originally posted by neilv View Posthey guys, my friend has a R15 and has a problem with it. it makes a weird noise while starting and does not start for a long time. also, when starting, the screen and the back light goes blank. can anyone please help me(him)? posting a video of the problem -
