Wow, the Motul 300V runs out so quick huh? Was actually planning to switch to that oil next.. Am currently on the Motul 5100. 2600km and the oil is still good.. I dont red-line as much as you tho.Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostHey guys. Just got my bike's 5th free service done at 10,000kms. Its been exactly 10 months since I bought my R15 and I can safely say I'm one happy fellow
. The bike has never troubled me in anyway whatsoever and I've ridden her out and out
. In the service, I switched from the Motul Fully Synth engine oil to the Motul Semi Synth 5100 oil. Got a new oil filter element and switched from the stock Spark plugs to the NGK Iridium plug. The tappets were fine tuned and adjusted again and I also got new front brake pads.
The new plug was an unplanned move. I did not intend to get anything out of it
. Just had the urge and did it. There is no significant difference either. I've kept the old plug with me, just in case
. Downshifts during gear braking are a little more smoother, without any sort of misfires now.
Joel's Simota Air Filter is a real winner though. Have run more than 2.5k with it now and I must say, I have got a consistent 40kmpl mileage, despite my high revving riding style. I am a speed freak, I don't deny that, and the bike has given me this good mileage, which was dwindling near the 30lmpl mark on the stock filter. So, its definitely worth the purchase
The reason I switched from the Fully synthetic oil by Motul is that it was burning out a little too soon for my wallet's comfort
. At around 2k kms, it was completely gone. Infact, in the last service, I had to change it at a record 1.3k kms. Maybe its because I redline the first 3 gears a lot. I am not sure. The semi-synthetic oil is really good though. I have now run more than 600kms after putting it and the bike runs as smooth as ever. But I do miss the free revving nature I got with the fully synth though
. I guess some compromises have to be made.
The screaching sound from by rear brakes still persist, even after running on the new pads for more than a 1000kms. I have been to the SVC more than 6 times now, seeking alignment. Every time, they fix it and it lasts for just a day before the sound re-emanates. Sad shit.
Never had an issue with my bike upto now too, 17600km on ODO. Apart from the persistent vibes issues, i'm a real happy dude too!
I too changed my bike's sparkplug at 12000km, just like that. Just repleced it with a new Stock plug. Throttle response became a wee-bit crisper i think. I'm trying to get the Simota Filter from Joel, but i think he's been super-busy.
The screeching sound from the rear-brakes is somethin i'm used to now, its been happening right from 7000km on the ODO after i changed the brake pads.
Also, is yours a 38B1 bike or is it the 20P2? I might ride to Mysore to meet u this weekend, btw.
Cheers!A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!

Wow. That's real soon. Mine has lasted 5000kms-5500Kms all the three times so far. I was running, on 5100 before. Last three intervals were on FS. Works great! Anyways, 5100 surely is a great oil.Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostThe reason I switched from the Fully synthetic oil by Motul is that it was burning out a little too soon for my wallet's comfort

Hi guys, yamaha is going to launch R125 on April 17 according to a website,motoroids..They had posted this news at 2.30pm today, but to my surprise when i visited the website again at 4.30pm they had removed the news.

Freerock@ Yes after every wash you have to lube your chain thats mandatory, unless you are using a water resistant chain lube. which cost around 1700rs. You can go ahead and lube it with motul which costs 480rs.
20P1 and 20P2 were the bikes which had the engine from abroad and 38B1 and 38B2 are the engines which are being assembled here in India with some imported and some locally manufactured parts.
Motoroids do not have that resourceful news, they also go ahead with rumors my friends. so unless you dont see the news on the Yamaha Website dont beleive.Last edited by Shivanshu; 04-01-2011, 12:35 AM.

i removed the sparkplug cap and cleaned it but i didn't noticed much difference in that tak-tak sound but i didn't clean the sparkplug plug, was it also necessary? but sir i noticed a very big thing i.e in a day in every ride if i don't let engine to go on low rpm with higher gear even with lower gear that sound keep on decreasing and i really don't let engine to run on low rpm with higher gear but the place in bangalore where i am staying is little hilly type area so engine always need 2nd or 1st gear to move up and if someone is sitting with me then only 1st gear works or else i need to accelerate hard.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Post12000 is the idle rpm dont adjust it. remove sparkplug cap and clean the cap from inside with cloth and with pressure air. it will help u otherwise you have to change it. sound came when water enter in it while washing or by some other means or when u drive bike in higher gear with low rpm. try it hope your problem will solve
its ok sirOriginally posted by adi.singh1992 View PostHey man sorry for the late reply i think u've solved ur problem by now but
FYI idle rpm is 1300-1500 rpm....
nope my problem not yet solved but i think i know the exact reason why this tak-tak comes, only because of running the engine at low rpm with higher gear
as i mentioned above.
and guys i find this thread for rpm setting

Bro there is no R125 for India. Yamaha is facelifting R15 with some features adopted from R125 and will launch it this year.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostHi guys, yamaha is going to launch R125 on April 17 according to a website,motoroids..They had posted this news at 2.30pm today, but to my surprise when i visited the website again at 4.30pm they had removed the news.
