Change the tyre. No warranty on punctures, however a manufacturing defect (like a bubble in it or so) was being changed under warranty.Originally posted by shrinathrao View Posthey friends my R15 is close to 5000 kms and 4 months old, today morning to my horror i found there were 6 punctures in the rear tyre. Was wondering whether there is any warranty by MRF on tyre.
Secondly how much life should i expect out of the tyre now after this many punctures.
No point in sticking with this tyre.
Also make sure no one is messing up with your tyres intentionally, also remember to go easy on throttle and brakes on bad roads.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Stock should be fine, does the puncture look like dog bits
Tube you can put, but why take that risk man.... what if it explodes during a ripfest

Hey all, I contacted Yamaha by sending a mail to Back Office and also called their toll free number regarding the fairings replacement. I got same reply from both of them. Sir, we have no idea regarding the fairing replacement and they said that not even a single bike in India has been given a replacement like this
They weren't even bothered about my chassis no. Btw, mine was purchased in April 2009 and chassis no. starts with ME120P1.
Any ideas ?2009 YAMAHA YZF-R15
I hate people driving fast, thats why i overtake them !!!

Ask them about "burning kit" installation in your mail. Give them your engine and chassis no. and let us know the responce.
@ Abhi_underdog
Chassis no. does not have 20p1/20p2, it is the engine no that has this prefix on it. PM me your engine and chassis no. and I will tell you if your bike is eligible for the burning kit replacement.Last edited by Parth; 03-31-2011, 12:14 AM.

What's the burning kit? is it related to the fairings replacement? I have had no answer from Yamaha despite 2 emails, I've had better response from TATAOriginally posted by Parth View PostAsk them about "burning kit" installation in your mail. Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Hmm, New Tires are available with Laxmi Tires( Opposite PMC), Lokmanya(Near garware), Market Yard. Costs Rs 2200-Rs 2400. Some quoted different +- Rs 200. Let me know if you need something.Originally posted by shrinathrao View Posthey man i asked in some showroom but they dont have
I had Puntures around 7-8 after 10,000Kms. Fixed them. They lasted without a Punture till 22,000Kms, before I put the new tire. But, that;s my part.
Try getting a new tire preferably, and needless to say stick to stock.

Hey man sorry for the late reply i think u've solved ur problem by now butOriginally posted by Bean View PostThanks sir for the post and i think you right its because of low idle rpm only and i have noticed that in morning when the engine is cold the rpm automatically goes to 1.5k rpm but after engine gets fully heat up the rpm comes down to 1.1k - 1.2k and in 1.5k rpm the sound never came
so now i need to increase the engine idle rpm right! so what you suggest what should be the idle rpm?
FYI idle rpm is 1300-1500 rpm....

Hey guys. Just got my bike's 5th free service done at 10,000kms. Its been exactly 10 months since I bought my R15 and I can safely say I'm one happy fellow
. The bike has never troubled me in anyway whatsoever and I've ridden her out and out
. In the service, I switched from the Motul Fully Synth engine oil to the Motul Semi Synth 5100 oil. Got a new oil filter element and switched from the stock Spark plugs to the NGK Iridium plug. The tappets were fine tuned and adjusted again and I also got new front brake pads.
The new plug was an unplanned move. I did not intend to get anything out of it
. Just had the urge and did it. There is no significant difference either. I've kept the old plug with me, just in case
. Downshifts during gear braking are a little more smoother, without any sort of misfires now.
Joel's Simota Air Filter is a real winner though. Have run more than 2.5k with it now and I must say, I have got a consistent 40kmpl mileage, despite my high revving riding style. I am a speed freak, I don't deny that, and the bike has given me this good mileage, which was dwindling near the 30lmpl mark on the stock filter. So, its definitely worth the purchase
The reason I switched from the Fully synthetic oil by Motul is that it was burning out a little too soon for my wallet's comfort
. At around 2k kms, it was completely gone. Infact, in the last service, I had to change it at a record 1.3k kms. Maybe its because I redline the first 3 gears a lot. I am not sure. The semi-synthetic oil is really good though. I have now run m ore than 600kms after putting it and the bike runs as smooth as ever. But I do miss the free revving nature I got with the fully synth though
. I guess some compromises have to be made.
The screaching sound from by rear brakes still persist, even after running on the new pads for more than a 1000kms. I have been to the SVC more than 6 times now, seeking alignment. Every time, they fix it and it lasts for just a day before the sound re-emanates. Sad shit.D'oh!
