His chain was a bit tight, tyre pressure and fuel was same.. as we tanked up the bike and filled air before leaving for the trip.. We had around 4 Litres in the tank left..Originally posted by SilentKnight View PostWell assuming that you were on a long straight stretch , what RPM did u achieve 130 . Compare that with your friends .
Chain slack , lubrication , tyre pressure , and amount of fuel left in the tank can also cause a decrease in speed .
Check these again and try hitting the top speed .
I have not done any changes to the bike but my friend doesnt have RVM's in his bike.. My friends bike is 5 months old and mine is 7 months old..Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostHave you done any changes to the sprockets, again how old is your bike as compared to your friends?Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

oh......Originally posted by gbsaint View Postit helps modified bikes.and by mod,i mean full system freeflow exhaust, big bore etc etc,and not stickers and projector headlamps
it helps by allowing u to increase the CO upto CO +30.
! you are increasing the bore by how much?

Yes if there is a difference in altitude, tuning the C0 ratio does help to get best performance from your machine. Think of it as a digital air-fuel screw. And the FID is the only tool that lets you set that.
This is because the R15 runs an open loop system. So there is no feedback from the exhaust with regards to the CO2 value in the burnt gases, that lets the ECU determine the best air-fuel ratio.
It has to be set manually like a carburettor, only difference is you use a digital tool to set it.
I had one for sale, sold it in mumbai. If anyone wants one, i can arrange for it.
EDit - if you are not happy with the C0 setting, you can always contact your regional service engineer from yamaha. They have one issued to them for this purpose.
there are 7 sensors to be exact....thanks for the info..this is my first time with a fuel injected bike.....how much does this kit cost?

using a belt drive instead of a chain drive isnt an easy task. The belt has to be capable of withstanding high stresses.. (just imagine you replacing a chain with a belt drive) which means the gear box will need some redesign => increased costs. its not economically feasible plus belts come with their own problems- they tend to break, slip...one has to put in the quality and design to sustain it.....
nothing wrong in asking
No its not about speed, its about turning and shifting those gears!
