Yamaha is replacing fairings and radiator fins of r15's for free. They call this burning kit for some reason.

Yes it comes in a bottle but that bottle is for one tyre. That means its 600 per tyre.

As it prevents the unwanted, combustible material to get attached to the engine and silences pipe area.

Yamaha feels that the earlier fairing is some what sub standard quality and its prone to fire .. so they have changing it now for all R15 ..so if u have not changed it ..plz change it asap..

Here is the details of changes/replaces done for free from yamaha

              1. side faring change which included new mesh to protect the engine from accidental fire due to keeping cloths in the slots of the fairing

              2. change of radiator ..due to old ones are not properly functioning in indian environment

              3. Now - faring change .. front ...total 7 pieces right side 3 farings... left side 3 fairing .. and bottom near radiator one 1 ... except front doom faring .. they are changing all ..

my bike is from 2008 first lot of bike.. i love the way yamaha treating R15 customers .. can't imagine same with bajaj/tvs/HH

, free , this morning, i was thinking about replacing , the radiator fins , , i tried cleaning them , they got bent , so many insects in there , and they are so delicate the fins , i wonder , is it even possible to clean them ?
what if i dont clean them at all , let the insects roast ??
i am pretty sure , so many of us wouldnt even bother to look there , i wouldnt have , i did accidently

Got it changed a couple of months back bro

Here is the details of changes/replaces done for free from yamaha

                    2. change of radiator ..due to old ones are not properly functioning in indian environment
WRONG. The change in radiator was due to the fact that the horn was mounted onto the radiator (left side) for the initial lot. This caused the radiator to crack sometimes and leak coolant. The radiator change is valid for 2008 and some 2009 models only. To verify if your bike is eligible for this change, open up your bike's left fairing and see where the horn is mounted. If it is mounted on the radiator, then you can get the radiator changed free of cost. If not, then no radiator change for you.

And Yamaha charges for coolant when you get the radiator changed, so be prepared for that.

On the other hand, my bike got into another pothole in a matter of 2 days from the previous incident. This time the speed was slow, maybe 40-50 and I was riding at night so couldn't see the depth of the pothole and didn't brake due to the small pebbles on the road. The pothole was DEEP and SHARP edged. I went in at about 45k's and heard a loud metallic thud. Stopped right after the pothole to inspect.

Now there are two slight bends in the front rim, and the darn thing still wouldn't leak air. My SVC manager and some other r15 riders who have more experience than me with this machine have recommended me to continue using the current rim and not to change it untill it starts leaking air.

Any advice on whether to change or to live with it?

                      • Guys, I had parked my bike inside due to holi and some crazy person put some wet cloth over my tank and today when I opened the tank lid to fill petrol i found water in the sides of the lid.. I tried to soak it with a dry cloth but i managed to drop a few drops inside the tank too What harm can it do to my bike and how do I go about it removing it?

                        • Relax, its not that bad.. what you can do is completely drain the tank ( gotta remove the tank, there is a drain point beneath iirc ).

                          • Anyone in Hyderabad who got their fairings changed under free replacement?
I'm contemplating whether I should go get it or not, since my fairings are absolutely perfect.
All I'm interested in is the grill below the radiator!
