He sounds like an amateur to me bro. you borrow his bike and go on a long drive.. see how it responds to over heating.. whether the engine gets heated up quickly and whether the over heating light comes on .. do a thorough check up.. also see the link which Shivanshu had posted!Originally posted by sonu1990 View Post

You should complete your braking/deceleration before you enter a corner, as far as i'm concerned this is how it should be done on all vehicles, bikes, cars, trucks etc. Then you can accelerate out of the corner, depending on vehicle, the R15 in my limited experience as a rider does this superbly, I managed to fishtail the ride today, whilst decelerating and entering a round about, accidently shifted down to first, instead of second and a little slip of the rear end, luckily managed to get my foot down for balance, thankfully didn't get a chance to test my riding gearOriginally posted by Nilay View PostAgain u guys misunderstood.......I am not saying that R15 is not good in handling but i am asking the problem with bike's FiShtailing act under braking around 90-100 Kmph when you hit the fast corner.
Also as you said a shorter vehicle is always better at handling, due to the low center of gravity
then you have to study the law of physics because low center of gravity depends upon chassis design and what size of wheel you choose.........
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

any issues with 2008 ?
I got a similar 5500k done Dec 2008 model. Brought for 80k in Bangalore. Bike was in good condition. It has done some 10k kms now.
I would say go for it if all parts are fine. Check bike's handling/power at high speed, also check the rims for any bends etc. If its all fine go for it - lots of ppl bought this bike for looks and found out that they could not ride it daily for commuting due to the bike's ergonomics/power characteristics.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

^^ iirc, if you look carefully from the rear tyre looking forward, the chain isnt exactly parallel to both the gears. It sticks slightly outwards.
And when you load the rear of the bike up ( like a pillion), it changes the load on the chain.
So it would be interesting to say the least if executed correctly.. I am curious for sure.

sud i go for R15
i am a very new member of this famous xbhp. though i have been going through this site since last few months. i have been using karizma R since last 2 and half years. and totally satisfied with it .But as one of my known frnd is going to sell his blue R15 which is only 25 days and 456 km old.and he is selling it @80k(because he is leaving for Germany). I like R15 for its superior quality and good looks. though I am 6ft1 but still find R15 com4table for short city riding. so my question is for all of u experienced rider that sud I go for R15 after using ZMA. and what is the maintenance cost of dis bike? as I ride max at wk ends. I know my answer is here i the thread but 1000 pages make me lazy. just need ur valuable answer. hope u wont mind for this silly question..

Did you find anything?? Bajaj didnt do anything like that. Its a modification done by our fellow xbhp member on his Green Ninja by putting up the FZ's mudflap onto the Ninja.Originally posted by aditaya.chopra View Postbut i saw it in bajaj showroom, bike on display have in it and will enquire about it when i visit again

edit :
a pic
i'm going to check the bike in 2 r 3 days.
any issues with 2008 ?
* Front Suspension and alignment
* Rear Tyre pivot, Tyres (the amount of mileage the bike has done, the tyres should less worn)
If the tyres are new, do not go for it (Might have put some bigger tyres at the back and ruined the suspension and then when selling fitted the original ones back). If the tyres are too worn out then also do not go for it (Must have tried a lot of burnouts - which does not adds to your milage as the list is upfront and the tyres are spinning from the back).
I think he is also using the rear brakes alot which is why this problem is occurringOriginally posted by stefanm View PostYou should complete your braking/deceleration before you enter a corner, as far as i'm concerned this is how it should be done on all vehicles, bikes, cars, trucks etc. Then you can accelerate out of the corner, depending on vehicle, the R15 in my limited experience as a rider does this superbly, I managed to fishtail the ride today, whilst decelerating and entering a round about, accidently shifted down to first, instead of second and a little slip of the rear end, luckily managed to get my foot down for balance, thankfully didn't get a chance to test my riding gear
Karizma is a sorts tourer and coming from that bike to R15 would actually make you feel the change in stance but then if want to try that do go for it. Height of the rider does help in R15 as then you are more relaxed on the bike.Originally posted by rishichakdaha View Posti am a very new member of this famous xbhp. though i have been going through this site since last few months. i have been using karizma R since last 2 and half years. and totally satisfied with it .But as one of my known frnd is going to sell his blue R15 which is only 25 days and 456 km old.and he is selling it @80k(because he is leaving for Germany). DO ride the bike for some time (continuous stretch of 15 minutes which involves heavy braking and sudden acceleration) then only u will feel the difference.Flying at the speed of Life!

Vbelt arrangement for pwr transmission from front to rear sprocket? thats what u meant?Originally posted by Kabillan View Posthi guys i have a small doubt regarding the chain sound in our R15's-----------insted of chain can v go for v-belt arrangement?that vl make our R15 to run noise less....have any one thought about this?plz help me..the chain sound makes our bike little bit dirty......feeling soo bad....plz plz..help me

Chain you can lubed easily..
1. can u clean the v belt? imagine what will happen if the belt is totally soaked in water..
2.do u know why chain slack is there?? ... setting the tension in belts is very difficult.
3.What if it snaps because of its condition?? Its lot more safer when inside engine.. but when outside and exposed to severe conditions which a chain goes through.. the fibers get ruined and belt might snap.. you imagine ur condition after snapping occurs
4.slipping or derailing of the belt cud happen because of improper tension..
Does this solve your doubts my friend??
If any of you could provide more insight about this.
Thank youKrishi

thanx for ur answer. yes i did ride d bike for 50 km and felt some back pain and wrist pain. but to be very honest i became a fan of handling of dis bike. but only "back pain" is creating second thoughts on buying. but i have one more question about maintenance. regarding cooling and chain lubrication .. i mean sud i change d cooling (as i have heard) after 1000 km? and can i do it by myself?(as there are many YAMAHA showrooms here but for R15 servicing i need to go 40 km because only dat showroom is capable to serving d R15
)
