I removed RVM's , but sometimes I feel I should have kept them.

              • My bike has started vibrating around 6-7k rpm. Most vibes felt around the thigh area (above the engine). My bike has done 4600 kms till date.
I tried listening for some 'loose marbles' sound when the bike is idling, as Sarvajit said this is the way to check for improper tappet clearance, but there was no such sound. I do NOT rev it more than 6k for the first 8-10 kms of my 30km commute in the morning, letting the engine warm up. The last 20km of my commute is the outer ring road, and I go upto 9k rpm.
There is no drop in pickup (as far as I can make out) and it gives me the same feeling that it gave me after my first servicing (=just awesome).

Can someone tell me if these vibes are normal (they were not so much before) or if I should do something about it.

                Thanks.

PS - My right clipon is also bent a little towards the tank (some 3-4 degrees or so) due to a fall I had recently. I got used to the slightly offset position now and its not really a problem, but just for curiosity's sake, can I get the right clipon replaced? How much would it cost me?

However, they didn't have the 4 plastic screws connecting the visor to the headlamp cowl. They said they will get it in a couple of days, the cost of those is Rs.58 each! At that cost I can happily get drum liners for my other bike!
Buddy, every spare of R15 is priced heftly. Also still they are selling some of the imported spares. I happen to buy clutch and front disk brake lever. They both were imported from Indonesia . Also i got FZ feeers for my bike. 1 was imported from Japan and another manufactured in Faridabad.

I wonder the Aluminium finished billet Clutch Levers and Brake Lever can fit into R15?

I don't understand what is so special about these screws&nuts-the allen type chromed ones cost about Rs.65 each it seems!

@santa: Indicators are flexible, almost like Pulsars.

@krishnakanth_r15: I saw a couple of red single seat cowls at Pearl Gachibowli today.
                      Oh my! Rs.58 each?
Btw..welcome to your fresh looking baby again!
Why dont you try the Fazer nuts..?
If the RVM nuts can be same in half the price then surely the Visor nuts can fit too..
I always find the alternate spares which are reliable but cheaper.. i know thats not a gud fashion to carry on..but why to waste 240rs on nuts if I can have the same feel and fit in less than half the prize!

I think you meant 'feelers', right? That is the peg scrapers na? How much did the 'manufactured in faridabad' cost you?

Also I just wanted to ask a general question, when I buy the right footpeg assembly, what all comes with it? Is the rear brake master cylinder also a part of it? Ideally I was looking at getting the footpeg bracket (which bolts onto the chassis), the footpeg and the brake lever...

Digislayer had posted pictures of 5 engine mount nuts. Check if they are tight. Most probably they're loose...

And I guess the clip on costs some 135 bucks.... Even my steering is bent, but I'm unable to determine whether its the fork, the triple clamp or the clip-on thats bent...

Yes, they have 2 red ones with them&I think Venkatesha also has 1-2. Work out how you can get it. They don't courier to other cities.

Anways, how did u lose those screws? And without screws are able to use the bike!!!
The spare parts of Yamaha always keep on increasing, dont know the reason. Rs 58 each for a screw is very costly indeed.
I told you the visor&speedo flap fell off after the impact. Alongwith that obviously all 4 screws flew off. I could pick them up&refit, but couldn't find the screws on the road. The headlamp cowl is held in place by the allen bolts on the sides, but the 4 visor screws are missing.

Yeah the mechanic was also telling me it looks good, but the plastic ones are longer&hence stop vibrations. How much&where did you get the allen bolts for? The SVC says they are Rs.68-75!

Most of us had the same problem after a few months of hard ripping. It is the engine mount bolts as svjhonda said. Check digislayer's pic&get them tightened at the next service. I remember the profound difference in smoothness when it was done after 6 months!

Yes you can get the clipon changed, I'm not sure whether it is Rs.135 or 300.

How much did the FZ feelers cost? The R15 feeler is Rs.250 odd whereas the footpeg itself is only Rs.65!
I assume you have gone for the billet clutch&brake levers? I have the same on my bike too. One costs Rs.1000&the other is 1100. They look excellent, but very expensive to replace in case of a fall. I had to replace the clutch lever after the 1st fall when someone tipped it over in my building. I stopped using the paddock stand after that.

It is a part of the accessories, have a look at the line above&also get a copy of the catalog. They sure look&feel great, though they will fade soon.

I'm trying to lay my hands on the plastic type of screws aftermarket, but they are really long, lets see if I can get them somewhere!
