  • Hii Sarvajit, how r u bro?? These days u are kind of busy i think...

Yes i took the black one. I had no other option because i was tired of waiting so long. I had been busy and couldn't come to hyderabad. Anyways now i have to try my level best to make it to red colour. I tried at some local paint shop, they said that the paint would come off easily and also the colour was not matching. In that case, will i have to get it sprayed? Please suggest.

        • I would still spend 2k and fix yam plates. I dont want the word "Pulsar" even close to my bike . let alone its parts .

Ya I know . Call me crazy or whatever, I was willing to buy the whole set. I really don't and can't stand seeing my bike with anything broken or not working on it. Anyway, found 1 set of 4 in Delhi while I was there for some work and knowing such things happen all the time; will keep the other 3 as spares

How many KMs on the present clutch plates? Also just a thought, you will be able to use Redline clutch springs (they are made by makers of EBC brake products). In fact they have a clutch kit which is a perfect match. Don't know if it is available here. I will be searching for the same on my next trip abroad.

Why on earth would anyone use Pulsar parts? All said and done, the quality of parts made and sourced by Yamaha is far better than Bajaj, also what is the saving; a few hundred bucks?!!

Hi bro, I was busy with my marriage, maybe you have seen the Invitation thread.
If you see the black cowl, it is not painted-it has a carbon pattern sticker with lacquer coat over it. Red cowl also must be the same IMO.
Now if you are trying to repaint, you would have to rip the complete stickering off, the plastic portion would be visible down. Then, get a plastic primer coat done. The primer helps paint to stick to plastic surfaces. Later you can spray the entire cowl surface, then also clear coat it. If you have saved the sticker with the logo part, stick it on before clearcoating.
This will definitely not look as good as the original one, but its the closest bet. Make sure the paint shade is matched correctly.

I can understand the feeling very well bro, I got my LHS panel changed, coz some a$^h*l# ripped the sticker off.
When my bike was tipped over in my building, the LHS front indicator plastic cover also cracked a bit on the sides-I have taped it up&it has been that way since 1.5 years.

                  • The clutch plates would have been replaced under warranty if and only if they were found to be defective. In this case, I presume the owner has already used/enjoyed the service of the first set of plates and hence has been 'consumed'. Can't be claimed under warranty

10.4k.. Yes, the mech told we can use the pulsar clutch plates, but its not a direct fit.

Just took the bike back from the mech... Boy oh Boy, the clutch is smooth as butter and damn, the gear shift... I couldnt even hear a shift noise.
I am pretty impressed with this guy.

For some reason, the mech has also stiffened the front suspensions, now its hard to ride in the city, but waiting to check the set up in the track. I think its going to be perfect

Uprated Clutch springs. This will reduce some clutch slippage since my clutch plates are worn out.

                                Clutch cam adjusted

Little extra oil filled in the forks to keep the front end stiff under hard braking.

The Razor cone has been tightened to reduce the head from wobbling when taking high speed corners.

Petty things were, like cutting the seat to lower the COG and for ease for cornering and tucking in.
New Fr Pads and clutch cable.

Except for cutting the seat and brake pad change, the mech has himself done all the works.

Now the one and only problem with the bike is, the handling is very sharp like an RTR and I find it very difficult to move the bike in traffic.
