    Guys, talk some sense.

Dani Pedrosa weighs only 51 Kgs and is only 5 ft 2 inches tall . Yet he rides a 220 hp bike with speeds touching 345 km/h. That bike weighs in at 150 to 160 Kgs i.e. only 30 kgs more than R15. If what you say is true then he should be flying of the saddle like the Coyote on the ACME rocket with no control on the bike .

    Please talk some sense .

What myths are you all are precipitating

Riding a sports bike requires a level of commitment. You should be willing to put up with some degree of discomfort and should be physically fit.

If you are looking for a comfortable commuter ride then R15 is not for you. If you are looking for a bike that involves you to the degree that every ride is an learning experience and you wish to expand the envelope of your riding skills then this is definitely the bike for you.

Take a call based on these factors and not on your height and weight. I have seen guys who are 6 ft + who ride R15 without any apparent discomfort and I have friends who are 5 ft 5 inches who are not comfortable with the bike.

      • Hi Biker Brothers! My second post here and I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome. Thanks a ton to all for the same!

I was glad to see a couple of questions in the replies posted, the answers to which are as below:

        1. When was the news published in the papers?
Reply: The same was published on Page 4 of TOI Delhi Main Paper dated 22nd October 2009 under the heading "They stole sports bikes for joyrides".

        2. How was the lock broken?
Reply: It was quite a surprise for me as well. One of the two guys who actually broke the lock was all of 16 and was a real expert mechanic who knew all about locks and ignition systems. But to be honest, I don't really know how they broke it all in such less time.

My sincere thanks to all who read my post. I was wondering if Delhi has a club of R15 owners. Please let know of the same.

        Happy & Safe Ridin!

        • Ok guys got a short test ride on a r15. Hmmm I cant yet be sure as to weather the posture will be comfortable for me or not. It was a very short ride. Maybe I need a longer test ride. I felt the bike was a little small but the posture was kinda OK. I felt that the bike was adequately powered for my needs. I ride a classic 180 btw.

I have to take a test ride of a 220 when I get time.

And about the comments on my weight height ratio: No im not going to put on any weight

50 kg is a little too less for a 6ft guy. the trouble will come when you will have to push the bike up a slight slope or something while parking and stuff or when the bike bike unexpectedly tilts to one side and you will have to pull it back etc. you will learn about the small difficulties when you start using the bike.as far as riding is concerned weight will not be an issue.

dude..since your'e planning so let me put my thoughts in for the R15. im not a technical person so can't write much about that..im sure others will pitch in with that.

              1. low end torque is less..if you're with a pillion in city, not the best bike around...thats cos its not meant for that purpose...its developed to turn into a MONSTER on the free-ways and this beast sure does honor that..

              2. never ever have I come across a bike which sticks to the road at high speeds as this beauty does. one literally feels thats its glued to the roads/corners..on other bikes (above 90kmph I felt as though I'm flying with my bike). i make it a point to ride her in the 5th gear most of the times, but on special occasions I upshift her to the 6th and boy-o-boy..does she fire...

              3. ride it at 60kmph continuosly even in the cities and she sure does turn out worthy for your pockets..iv been getting 45+ till now..but don't know till when

              4. the sporty stance really helps. frankly speaking thats the way a bike should be ridden (i hope there is a word like that in the dictionary ). in a way the stance makes sure you're physically healthy cos you're wrists, back, reflexes, lower end of your tummy play a big role while riding the bike.

              5. looks..don't need to write much in that department...but yeah tires do deserve a mention...ride it at tripe digits and then you'll get the funda behind the thin tyres.

              • The out come of testing the bike in track was awesome. With new tyres, the bike was hugging the track like a leech. There were no more unnecessary head shakes too. Wow, i love the setup.

I donot think that it is OT. It is a matter related to R15 and its owners. Please donot take my point wrong, i only meant to convey my message.

Can a FZ/ Fazer rear swing arm, rim, and tyre be fitted into a R15? And would the swing arm and rear rim allow for the disc brakes to be fitted into em?
