  • Can anyone tell me, how much does service guys charge to clean your fuel injector system ? After almost 3 years of ownership looks like my R15 needs the cleaning.

    Thanks in advance.

      • guys need help

yesterday when i was riding my r15 suddenly it starting jerking at 3k rpm then it was totally jerking & the bike was getting switch off
what could be the reason :-

i took out the bike after 10 or more ( actually don't remember ) days

previously i was having rtr fi so does r15 has any fuel filter just like rtr i mean the fuel will pass (after switching on) through fuel pump then to fuel filter then to injector. do i need to replace the fuel filter

i suspected that water may got added with the fuel may be the pipe just close to the petrol tank mouth may be clogged so checked it but it was ok

moreover the bike didn't went through any rain

it is true that petrol if stays in the tank for long time it gets rotten i mean the effect of petrol becomes bad even if we smell it and compare with a fresh petrol there will be difference in smell -------this statement was according to a local mech
is it true so do i need to change the fuel in the tank
        pl. need help guys

as a substance such as rubber(tyre) heats up it becomes more flexible, not really to a level that we can see with the naked eye , but it does at a molecular level , when its more flexible can slip more easily between the small groves on the road or tarmac, hence holding the bike in place while turning ect .
But over heating of tyres can cause it to burst and wear out easily , which is why a hard set of tyre's are used when the track has a lot of high speed turns .

fuel doesnt go bad if you keep it for 10 days , that happens only after months , u probably had bad fuel to begin with . Clogs in the fuel intake can also cause problems , also if your bike is old get the injectors cleaned .

My odo read is 60K and its been almost 3 years, still there is no sign of Clutch plates wearing out. So it's pretty good.

This was done on Vibhanshu's bike in front of me-hardly a 5 minute job. There is an injector cleaner available in the SVC&they will do it, provided you pay them the labor for it, as mentioned on the labor rates chart. I suggest all get it done after 20K kms.or so. It is due for mine as well.

                • Hi guys,

Unfortunately my R15 meet with an accident . There are some damps on the fuel tank and black scratched in the headlight cover. Also the paint has come out.

I haven't visited the service center yet, but I'm mainly concerned for the color because its silvery white.

Please suggest me something on it. Photos are attached!

                      Hey,
Bought a brand new yellow R15 yesterday. Riding with a temporary trade number. Ll get permanent number in 2 days. Now i have few queries.

                      1) There is no center stand in my bike. But i have seen R15s with center stand.Company offers center stand?
                      2) Gear box is little noisy. Is this a common problem till running in?
                      3) This will sound silly..But..There is no reserve knob and all for petrol (like what we have as on, off and reserve in other motorcycles)??I dint spot anything like that.

                      • Hi guys, one question has been popping in my head for last few days but forgot to ask in this forum. Does checking engine oil level using dipstick gives accuarte reading, considering the fact that there is no center stand. how do you guys manage it? please advice. Thanks.

If you are keeping it on the side stand and then taking the reading, then the reading is bound to be inaccurate.
Ask someone to hold the bike for you so that it's straight and then take the reading, also take the readings in the mornings, before starting your bike then it will be more or less accurate.

                            The ans. to your queries.
                            1. The company doesn't offer center stand on the stock bike, you have to buy it as an accessory, you can also buy the paddock/racing stand, which looks very good.
                            2. I don't think it will be that noisy and it isn't a problem. Wait till the 1st service it will become butter smooth
                            3. Yeah, there is no on/off/reserve knob, it goes in reseve automatically once the fuel reaches the min of 1.2litre mark and utilizes every drop of fuel till the tank is empty.

Sujith congrats for the machine. few pictures of your new steed would do justice. As per your queries:

                              1. Center Stand is an optional accessories by the company, it does not come with the stock bike. You will have to buy it from the showroom and then get it installed.
                              2. Gear box will be a bit noisy and its normal, so dont worry about it.
                              3. Yamaha YZF R15 is a fuel injected motorcycle, hence it doesnt have a caburetor, hence there is no ON n OFF knob for fuel. for more details on the Fuel Injected system of this bike just go through the manual and you will be able to know.
